I'm assuming the smaller engines that have an apparatus number that starts with a "5" are Type 5 engines. A Type 5 is basically a Type 6, but has a larger tank of 400 gallons minimum, where a Type 6 has a minimum of 150 gallons. The other difference is the Type 5, of course, has a higher GVWR. Does anyone know if these 500 series engines are Type 5's?
