16:44 This actually points toward how a more realistic 'turbo' system for ballistic firearms could work in a video game - the guns could use a _freeze_ (coolant) charge, that you could insert into the mechanism to cool it down briefly, and if the gun is designed with some sort of electric ignition or electrothermal-chemical ignition then for as long as it's cooled it could change the ignition profile to release more energy than it can normally handle. Sort of like overclocking the gun for a short period.

reguarding the last gun, i think theoretically they thought it would work in a way that the barrel is cooled (the steam from the handguard) and the bullets fire normally but in the way to the barrel travels THROUGH the thermite grenade (i can see a hole in the middle of it when the shooter loads it) and this would somehow work......though shooting a super-thermite heated round trough a zero degre barrel sounds like the quick temprature change wuld rather just the whole mess go "KA-Boom" instead :P

Between the previous cursed guns video and this one, it seems like Escape from Tarkov's main design aesthetic was "How can we make our guns as offensive as possible to firearms experts in ways that are physically possible IRL with enough accessories?" while Call of Duty veers between "it's trying to be a real thing but they didn't get *any* of the details right" and more of a viscerally horrifying "WHAT WERE THE DESIGNERS ON?" route.
@lnawesome2 жыл бұрын
To answer the sci-fi science of the rampage LMG (that really isn't any science... I think) The normal way that the rampage works is the thermite connectors are connected to themselves in normal barrel operation making a slow rate of fire as the gas can only push back the bolt with the cartage combustion pressure. In comes the thermite grenade. During the inspect you can see the thermite holder and the gas tube below it. The thermite grenade hollow core is lined up with the barrel which opens and locks on to either end allowing the round to go through it and break open the covers on the ends. The grenade slowly burns heating up the gas more after the bullet passes and increases the pressure further. This increase pressure throws back the bolt hard enough to meet the maximum compression of the spring quicker and cause the next round to be chambered faster, increasing the rate of fire. The vents on the front let off the excess pressure and heat generated between the grenade and covers, so that the temperature is not so high that is melts any of the components its near. And the weapon is bullpup style to keep the rounds themselves far away from the heat to prevent cookoff.

Two things worth noting: The Dead Man's Tale from Destiny 2 was made as a custom ornamental rifle in the lore. It was meant to be as fancy and over-the-top as possible. The Rampage from Apex Legends seems to have a 2-piece barrel, with the front part extending forward as the gun opens up. The thermite grenate put into the gun has an open core in which the barrel inserts into when reassembled. This means the front barrel gets heated up, but the rear barrel, which contains the round before it gets fired, does not.
