Let's be perfectly clear : The Russian general was not dismissed for criticizing the war, but rather the lack of support from higher ups, the lack of artillery support, air support, munitions etc. He was dismissed because he laid bare the state of the RuAF on the frontline, the utter lack of resources leading to mass casualties. In other words, he exposed the fact that the Russian military is conducting the war with dwindling supplies that are not being sufficiently replenished, that cannot be replenished as stockpiles are running out and production capacity is insufficient. I've heard this story on several media outlets in many countries and seen copies of his written communiqués. It is cause and effect, as Ukraine is specifically and consistently targeting munition depots, weapon caches and supply routes.

After hearing about this level of turmoil in the Russian command structure I can only hope that the Ukrainians can keep enough pressure on their enemy to tip the scales on the front lines of this war. What you don't hear from CNN and other mainstream news is the level of turmoil in the Ukrainian command structure. I appreciate it is difficult to use Ukrainian sources because because it takes an effort and language barrier is an obstacle... It's not as smooth as you would like to see, to put it mildly.

This was all obvious even before this Russian General reported it to those that have been following. Even the western nations are struggling at times to keep up with supplying ammunition and the United States alone has significantly more weapons manufacturing capability than Russia even without the entirety of Europe. Russia has been getting by on very old stockpiles for a very long time but those are starting to run out thanks to a combination of heavy usage and Ukraine’s ability to locate and destroy ammo dumps. So they’re getting to the point where they’re relying more on what they can manufacture and they can’t manufacture enough. The even bigger issue for Russia is the destruction of their armor and artillery. These are things that cannot be manufactured quickly and Ukraine is destroying their existing stocks at a much faster pace than they can be replaced. This is why you’re starting to see things like Russian tanks built in the early 1950’s being loaded onto train cars and appearing on the battlefield. As those resources get thinner and thinner the amount of armor and artillery support available for Russian troops will get more and more scarce. If Putin is stupid enough to keep this up by this time next year this war will just be one big turkey shoot for the Ukrainians and reports of two or three thousand Russian WIA/KIA a day will not be unusual. And at the same time the Ukrainian Army will be suffering far fewer casualties due to a lack of enemy artillery. At that point it will become cheap for the west to supply Ukraine because they’ll just need to worry primarily about supplying artillery and small arms ammunition and they can keep that up indefinitely with very little impact on their own economies.

I agree100% but that is the best case scenario, in war it’s foolish not to look at the worst case scenario as well and be prepared for it. Let’s say lukashenko gets ill and Prighozin is put in his place or in charge of Belarusian military, another front is opened from the north of Ukraine. This drags the war on giving Putin time. American elections take place and Trump gets into the White House, he immediately stops aid to Ukraine. For these reasons Ukraine needs f-16 and long range missile. If the perception in Russia is that Russia is loosing badly it will weaken Putin.
