Firefighters and police respond to bizarre car crash

London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police respond to a bizarre situation on Judd Street in Camden where a single vehicle was overturned in the middle of the road. It's not immediately apparent how the incident occurred and there appeared to be no other vehicles or people involved. Firefighters used a winch on the front of a Fire Rescue Unit (FRU) to drag it to the side of the road before rolling it upright.
FRU and Pump Ladder from Euston along with appliances from Islington and Soho attended. British Transport Police were also present. One patient was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service and taken to hospital.

The direction indicators need to be make larger that the standard as delivered models, with all non standard flashing lights fitted to emergency vehicles the ordinary turn signals get lost in the show. As a motorist trying to steer clear it's often difficult to know where the on call vehicle needs to go. In London firemen are know as the " Showmen" which is great but tell us where your going..

Very good catch. As the title said, it was somewhat bizarre. What I find disturbing is the considerable pressure put on civilian drivers to pass through red traffic lights, even though it is an offence and police have said that they can prosecute (I have seen this stated by a senior police officer- I can't remember the exact details) It is wrong and the law needs changing in this respect.

@MrGogania The SEG are all uniformed police officers. If they order you to move out of the way with the whistle and hand signals you have to obey. This is one of the few times you're authorised to go through a red light.

@@hazyblue69 Uniformed police officers may be able to do that, assuming that you can see that they are (a) the police and (b) in uniform. The same does not apply to the other emergency services, uniformed or not. However, you are putting yourself in serious danger from crossing traffic if your own vehicle does not have blue lights. Also traffic light cameras don't care if there is an emergency. The law frowns on common sense so it needs clarifying.
