Sad thing is, I watched the Con where Nathan explains why both Book and Wash had to die. Basically, Book died to cement the fact that The Operative was deadly serious about killing them all, and would not stop until they were dead. Wash had to die to show the audience they were in bad straits, and it was a possibility that every member of the crew could die. While sad, I think both deaths showed the depth of humanity for the audience, and how fragile life really is.
@Danno_A_Jyd3 жыл бұрын
@@isaiahwelch8066 if they did another Firefly series/Serenity movie they could introduce Dry, Wash's brother [or cousin] and a new preacher who would reveal some of the details about Book. The best way to bring Firefly back is to tell Joss Wheton that he wasn't needed to write the next chapter[s]. I believe he would revolt against the thought and get busy! That is how geniuses react. In the end it will be up to we Firefly fans to get things moving. All we need is to know who we should push. Tudyk would be the man to ask. ;)

So Nathan actually described “The Shepherds Tale” (the backstory of Shepherd Book) and warning massive spoilers for the graphic novel. Book was actually a Browncoat spy implanted in the Alliance. But he did do horrible things to not only infiltrate the Alliance but to hold his cover and it tore his conscience up so after the war he surrendered himself to god and aimed to make peace with what he had done

Some cons are better than others about that for sure. Unfortunately it also has to do with the union that works at the convention center the con is at, and the rules about what they can and can not hook up gets really weird from con to con and state to state.

This was the best sci fy series ever and a great movie, I didn't even know of it's existence until it was over. I think the series should come back with Chiwetel Eli.ja...for as a human rights activist leading a band of rebels against the alliance dictators and when he is out gunned calls for Mals help who initially wants to get popcorn to watch his demise but ultimately sees the needs of the people and swoops in at the last minute to rescue the group and come up with a better plan to defeat the alliance outpost and embarrass them as a whole so that the core alliance writes them off as not worthy. Wash should come back as a cyborg and Shepard book as an interactive A.I ready to answer spiritual questions. The Reavers like to keep their prey alive and would have a portable device to enable that, but the alliance caught them and salvaged Wash without telling the others, perhaps they didn't know their relationship. Now, working for the alliance, not knowing his past or relationship with the crew of the Serenity Wash is a a power to be reckoned with. Kalee, still on the ship, has it in good working order but has her own side project to replace a damaged and aging shuttle, she has built a fighter shuttle, with adequate space for the crew, long range engines and well armed for a fight should the ship be attacked it can break off to attack the flank of a larger ship. She calls it the wasp, Jane calls it the Bee, but armed it with his own choices of personally named guns and cannons. Inara , having returned to her homeworld to take care of her twin children has become something of a legend there and acquired a special rank but when she hears of Mal's predicament, having once again taken on a huge alliance force, she musters a team of her own, and leaving the twins to the care of the home, speeds off to help the uprising, sealing her fate as either a martyr or another legend in action coming to the rescue. River , off on her own, has established a school for the gifted, the elite and forms a team of special operatives while they are yet teenagers, and Wash is sent to flush them out, thinking his face will buy him access to the teacher, but she can still read minds and goes on the run to the only ship and crew she can trust, Serenity, while they are still engaged with the alliance outpost, she and her team arrive in time to help with Wash on her heals for a surprise reunion. Will Wash Recognize Zoey? Will she still love him, the half or less that remains? Did she have a child after his alleged death? Is there a 12 year old boy or girl on board capable of flying the ship? Will the A.I. Book be helpful in dealing with the Alliance special forces new cyborg? Dr. Tam has his own practice on an outlying world, it is small but well stocked. Seeing his old captain in the thick of things he arranges a medical supply to be diverted to the battle, but ultimately has to take it himself. Book's artificial intelligence interactive program is online and spreads the news of a battle on an outpost. Strangers, people that Mal and the "Operative" don't even know show up with supplies, weapons and people who are ready to fight under Mal, a hero of the solar system, with Shepard book leading the way on a special mechanical transport on tread tracks and his face on a screen up front. When he meets wash he is jealous of Wash's enhanced android body, it's strength and agility. Wash asks "Have we met before?" Having been captured, Wash is being interrogated by Zoey, who is heartbroken he doesn't remember her and a little repulsed that he is a robot working for the alliance. But River reaches into his mind and unlocks his memories. A short while later, while under attack, Wash breaks out but instead of killing the crew of the Serenity , Jumps into the line of fire, taking many hits before taking out the task force sent to kill them. Not too injured for an android to survive, he recalls a famous line from Malcolm: "What was that?" and Wash repeats a line to Mal and Zoey while being carried back to safety. "I'm a leaf on the wind." THen it's time for a speech by Malcolm, sent out to the Alliance home world. It speaks of human rights and the right to rebel against tyranny when a system of government becomes overbearing, that it is the duty of a well armed militia to bring down that government and replace it by one of the people and for the people, and others in the group join in with bits and pieces to show that the people all throughout the solar system are united in this belief and Book, with a bullet hole in his face screen adds the last part "Amen, and may God be with you." Once again sent out to the planets, this message weakens the alliance who have to give into a congress being assembled by the people for the people and elections. So, what do you think?

Some ignorant people are actually burning sooo much money for great CGI but bad storytelling in tv-shows like Star Trek Discovery! I cannot understand why these people don't give their money for a new and serious Firefly-Show with old AND NEW actors under the lead of mastermind Joss Whedon. Best example for a good Sci-Fi-Show imo is The Expanse, so a well done and successful Firefly IS POSSIBLE! And by the way - same for the Stargate-Franchise!

"It was a dream job" it wasn't everything, therefore your argument: "It was everything how can everything not be enough" it objectively wasn't everything. Go to the daily wire. Sell it as part of the the culture war..... because it is. Rand's ideas need more traction. Get it on the daily wire, and do it right:do not relinquish artistic control. Joss you got this. It IS part of the culture war, and YOU know it Joss. The cast knows it. It's all over their faces. How about that Jewel, balls of steel. Look at that face after she tells em the truth "We want more" then she nods, as if to say "seek the great" to the rest of them. I think they know they were squashing Rand's ideas, and maybe Daily Wire is wise enough to see it. Or, go to Tim Pool, he has money and means to back this as part of the culture war.

Pretty sure Joss and some othe others would be oppose toworking with DW. It not a bad idea, but sadly people will let politics to get in the way of something that is good. Plus sadly alot of the cast is getting to old. Maybe they can do animation or live capture action, but the Firefly we really want is gone sady. Best bet probably is a reset with different actors.
