You can use your knob remover for tightening up the volume and tone controls and also use it for the tuners as well.

Great advice, thanks! I have used it for adjusting bridges on les paul style guitars, but hadn't cosidered ysing it on the tone and tuners. I appreciate it! Here is a recent recording I made with one of my other FFSTs kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKOXcoWYgLpom5Ysi=4CnuKZ1v5CCjMzqU

Fun Fact…the Tone Zone was one of 2 pickups Dimarzio made for EVH…he chose the “other” one which became the Wolfgang pickup👍

That is so cool, I would have never known that. That pup is destined for a different project. I just picked up a super FFTS and it has the type of pup that screws to the body, so I think I have a host for this transplant now!

Thanks! I appreciate it. This one was complicated! It was a cool journey, with plenty of curves in the road, but I now have an absolute beast of a guitar, the thing just plays so well and sounds so good with a $15 pickup! Hope ya sub! Tempted to get the relic Strat with the Floyd Rose. With eyes wide open of course. I put Fender Road Worn tuners on my relic Tele, bushings fit, great bargain from the Amazonian. These flat radius necks do best with flat pole pickups. Anything more the 9.5" radius with traditional staggered pole pieces are going to amplify the Stratitis so it'll drive a guy nuts. Try Bootstrap Pickups, Ryan winds flat poles, has a bunch of different Strat sets, all are super affordable. Folks have made demo videos.

I love the way the ash body makes the whole thing vibrate, i swear it makes it sound better but heavy as a boat anchor. I heard several negative reviews of the FF FR, but my hunch is you will upgrade all that👌 Also, I did installe SD staggered pups on my other ash FFST and they are a bit muddy, was thinking of lowering the height to get them more in the zone.

@@JediJingleMaker Also: a graphic EQ can squelch a lot of the 400hz mud in those QPs. The Effects Bakery EQ is so great plus it's got a gain stage with lovely overdrive sounds.

First I heard of the Effects Bakery pedals, I looked into them and it looks like they don't have any on Amazon currently, but I will keep checking.

I have been playing with compression lately, really need to study mixing more. Let me know what you think of my bands release this morning kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpXNf52MYtJ7pZY Also, can you send me a link to the pickup set you bought for the FF BB King copy guitar? I need to start that project, trying to build the skills, heh.

Very interesting. Have just bought a Firefly ffst have stripped it down to reinvent. The frets on mine need a little tlc as bit scratchy and 2 point trem needs adjusting. Was thinking about replacing but might go your route and screw down and upgrade the saddles. The trem mounting studs sit a bit high out of body so it may require lowering the neck angle to be able to have trem sit flush. I do have a wired pickguard waiting with 2 dimarzio blue velvets and SD screamin deamon trembucker but i was surprisingly impressed with the sound of stock pickups so not sure. What tuners did you upgrade to?
@JediJingleMaker7 ай бұрын
The frets on mine were scratchy also, just using the Fret polish helped that a lot. I did lower the 2 bridge studs and that trem is locked down and it makes a great fixed bridge setup that way. I also like the bridge humbucker, but the cheap Fleor I replace it with is really awesome, kinda blew my mind, very Seymour Duncan-ish if that makes sense, but different. I upgraded to Hipshot tuners with the Universal Mounting Plates, I love those tuners. How would you lower the neck angle or even know if that is needed? That sounds difficult.

@@JediJingleMaker Hi nice video, thanks. I might have missed it but what is the diameter of the tuning holes? Mine are definitely getting replaced (but not with Hipshot!) as they feel all bound up- worst I've ever felt. I was going to shoot them with something- not sure what- but the cost of Guyker replacements are only about double what a can of DeoxIT Fader F5 Lubricant is so...
