I must following your lead. I'm looking to get the paisley version. If you recall I purchased a firefly a few weeks back to do a funky paint job. Well the looks came out fantastic but it never actually cured! So I'm going to strip it back and start over. Oh well, lesson learned.

Open your camera on your phone, then find settings, youll see one called mirro mode or selfie mode could be either but its the same setting. Turn that off and your selfir cideo wont be backwards anymore. Also great playing but loosen up on that vibrato a little bit. Slow and wode vibrato and a slide up will make that intro part way more tasty. Also a big vibrato tip is to not do it until the note gets weak. You dont want to immediately shake the string, the original purpose of vibrato is to sustaine the note, thats why singers use it and thats why i say to make your vibrato about 50 percent slower and maybe 30 percent wider.

Help! I just recently bought this guitar but my neck ain’t as yellow as I see everyone else’s guitar and the “diamond series” label on my head ain’t as big too, the serial number says 23 so I’m assuming it was made last year so it could just be a more newer model or maybe I just have a fake one, can anybody help with info

My guess is that it is real because they are already relatively inexpensive guitars, so not much incentive for people to copy them. You made me curious so I went and looked at pics of the neck on used Demon 7s on Reverb and Guitar Center and it looks like some of the necks are very yellow, others look like a regular maple neck. This kind of variability is really typical IMO. Over the years, these companies change their processes. Hope this helps.

You should! I actually sold mine, but it was a good guitar. I just realized I don't vibe with 7 strings, just a personal preference. This is not an acceptable guitar off the rack. But a darn good guitar with some required work. 1st the bridge has to be adjusted to the neck radius. 2nd the floating tremolo has to be actually adjusted to floating. 3rd the pickups have to be lowered correctly. 4th the action has to be adjusted. And finally and foremost: THE NUT HAS TO BE REPLACED WITH GRAPHIE OR BONE AND ADJUSTED TO 02 -03MM. Then you will have a pro guitar second to none. Great sounding and stable tuning. This guitar is NOT Setup out of the box!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent, and good luck! It is a great thing to learn how to work on your instruments, opens up lots of possibilities. I added a grounding wire and used a wire connector and screw to secure it to the foil in the cavity. The important thing is that you get 2 sided conductivity tape so that it conducts on both sides. Here is what I use amzn.to/3XpQLxs We are all novice players on some level, always something to learn or some new area to explore. No need to perform, all that stuff is optional and can be fun, but also can be a big distraction from just enjoying the playing and making music. I think the best thing about all the inexpensive guitars available nowadays is that many more people can get into music. When I started, you needed to spend about $1000 to get something decent, now you really can get something decent for about $200. That being said, anytime you order a guitar on line there is risk in it and the possibility of getting a "dud".

Tempted to get the relic Strat with the Floyd Rose. With eyes wide open of course. I put Fender Road Worn tuners on my relic Tele, bushings fit, great bargain from the Amazonian. These flat radius necks do best with flat pole pickups. Anything more the 9.5" radius with traditional staggered pole pieces are going to amplify the Stratitis so it'll drive a guy nuts. Try Bootstrap Pickups, Ryan winds flat poles, has a bunch of different Strat sets, all are super affordable. Folks have made demo videos.

I love the way the ash body makes the whole thing vibrate, i swear it makes it sound better but heavy as a boat anchor. We recorded 2 acoustic tracks and panned them left and right (no compression or effects on the Taylor recordings). I told Damon many times how incredible that guitar sounds and it is really cool to hear someone else also noticed it. We thought the concept of finding love for a second time in life would resonate with lots of people. Very much appreciate this video. I have an Epi Dot which had the g string issue. I bought a String Butler plus Zero fret. One of the things that has helped me is to tune all strings at the 2nd fret. There is a James Taylor video on tuning which is fascinating. Tuning open string to perfect pitch is a guaranteed disaster. So ... until I get that special tuner, just tuning with Snark tuner with 2nd fret being in tune seems to help quite a bit. Open strings may be a few cents on the flat side, but all the way up the neck you'll have better intonation. If I do buy this guitar in the future my intention was to purchase something like SD Psyclone pickups. You get that Filter'Tron blend of single coil / HB. I also would try StringJoy 12 to 58 and detune C to C.

Some of their Ash models look absolutely gorgeous! However, I’ve shied away from them mainly because Ash often seems to be heavier than mahogany, poplar, or basswood. I have an Ash-bodied Indio Cali DLX Strat-style guitar from Monoprice, and while it is absolutely gorgeous, it weighs about 8.5 lbs, almost as bad as a Les Paul!!! For me, the sweet spot for a solid body guitar seems to be about 7-7.5 lbs. Hard to believe that 1 pound can make such a big difference, but it really does seem to for me.

Thanks for the excellent comment. Yes, it weighs as much as a boat anchor, no doubt. I have an injured back so that is not optimal, however the thing sounds so good and really resonates, so I am willing to tolerate it. I loved it so much I bought a second ash FFST, also super heavy, also a wonderful instrument. Most of the time I am playing sitting down so not too bad. I can say they just feel really solid which is also nice. I am considering buying another FFST (how many is too many...) in the mahogany body to take outside and play. I live near the ocean and love playing near the beach, so I am thinking I should have a light weight one to carry to the end of the street and play. Those fret ends do not look like the ball ends they have on most of their current models. Overall, it looks almost as if this might be leftover inventory from an earlier batch or something. I have an FFTL that I absolutely LOVE, and it’s far better than the previous generation FFTL I had, which was one of the 3-pickup Nashville-style ones. That one was heavier than my newer one, and had a number of fret issues, fit-and-finish issues, and a badly angled neck.
@JediJingleMaker
@JediJingleMaker Ай бұрын
Yep, they aren't stainless ball end but they are decent fret ends. This one was not great, I think you theory on old stock is spot on. They gave me a partial refund, so no worry since I wanted to keep it and see if I could fix it. TBH, it is not totally where I want it to be yet. I now have 2 FFTLs and love both of them. The Nashville ones are cool looking, bummer you got a "dud". My way of looking at it is, well it is $200 and out of the 7 I have only 1 was a dud so I am doing pretty well. I use them to also learn how to work on guitars which is a new hobby of mine I really enjoy. If I make the guitar a disaster I can always throw it away, or make it a wall ornament. :)

I think the gloss black finish could be absolutely STUNNING if it were just cleaned up a bit-almost like a gorgeous black piano! Not sure about how I feel about the gold hardware though-to me, it looks a bit gaudy, plus gold hardware usually tarnishes very easily unless you REALLY take the time and effort to care for it properly.

Exactly, couldn't say it better. I will do an update on this one, it is still giving me issues. It looks SO COOL though, I really want to make it a player but not sure I can. I considered putting on Reverb as a "Has issues, don't know how to make it a guitar I like" guitar and sell it super cheap so that I have a good excuse to buy another FFLP. I know people get great ones, but this one really doesn't do it for me so far.

Gotoh compensated saddles are the best low dollar ones, Wilkinson's need the witness point edge burnished and don't have grooves.

Thanks! I put the Guyker compensated saddles on the blue FFTL and I don't think they did anything...

@@JediJingleMaker Never tried Guykers, most Guykers stuff I have tried I replaced. FFs are good enough for the Gotoh bump up and the saddles aren't as spendy as they seem compared to dr's&dentists parts. I also appreciate the string grooves. I've ground compensation ramps in the FF saddles before, finest diameter diamond coated Dremel bit and a cheapo battery powered dremel-like tool. A little unnerving if you don't have back ups.

Is it me or do some compensated saddle look like they are tilted to allow a shorter/longer string length? The first fire fly I have has saddles that sorta look like that.

@@JediJingleMaker Yeah, old school techs would bend the adjustment screws. Then Fender started drilling the barrels at opposing angles so the intonation screws would still work. Check out the Allparts TB5125

Cool guitar man! I got a firefly very similar in color except the neck is super dark and flamed. Plays ok but it's on the list of my guitars that need a set-up. Can't wait till the mod vid, I haven't figured out which mods I'm gonna do to mine yet.

Very cool! I love that thing, it was way better than I thought it would be. My plan currently is new pickups, string tree, and shielding. Everything else seems to be awesome as is. Thanks for the super cool comment, I really appreciate it!
