I love how Asgore owns up to his mistakes and admits he’s been cowardly hiding in the Ruins while in Undertale Toriel shows up to smack Asgore in the gut with a fireball, spare him, proceed to call him out for a plan that their children tried and failed, and not own up to her own cowardice and hypocrisy. Such a dynamic contrast in actions really shows how these characters really express themselves(idk)

Pretty sure any rewrites are only going to be temporary. I recall Dorked stating that the Inverted Fate world isn’t just going to be reverted back to Undertale. But I suppose you could interpret that as Asriel rewriting in a different way, and not just reverting everything back to Undertale. I guess that’d support the “I’ll make everything JUST right.” Line.

Okay, so. Everyone's said something about the major parts of this - the new Flowey sprites, the crushing despair as Flowey drops his facade, the various twists and turns this took, speculation about what his plan may be based on what we see in the post-credits - and I don't really have a lot more to add to that, so instead I'm going to draw focus to some of the less noticeable aspects of the video. For example! The parallels between Flowey and Undyne drawn here! Not what I expected, but it does make sense considering she was effectively the main antagonist while Flowey was keeping up his facade. More specifically, both have a conflict in which they believe that Frisk manipulated their close friend to stay by their side (Papyrus for Undyne, Chara for Flowey) and both have a personal grievance with said friend because they feel they don't trust them anymore. Of course, the context is different for each; Undyne was always aware that Papyrus was willingly helping Frisk on some level, she just kept denying it because it was easier to believe otherwise, whereas Flowey is the absolute KING of denial and will probably need a lot of convincing to realize that Chara just genuinely warmed up to Frisk during their journey together. As for the friends in question, Papyrus never intended to alienate Undyne, as he was just trying to keep his promises to Asgore and Frisk as best he could, whereas Chara...well, yeah, Flowey was right on the money, they DON'T trust him, but not for the reasons he thinks. Also, the fact that Sans doesn't chip in during the failed "Don't Give Up!" moment! Makes sense for him - if I had to guess, he probably (correctly) guessed that Flowey was just messing with Frisk and wasn't actually going to do anything to them, gave up entirely because he felt the situation was hopeless, or some combination of both.

I expected Flowey to attack, Lilac (was that her name?) to show up, etc etc. But what I didn't expect was Chara and Frisk splitting into two new souls, or Papyrus standing up to Flowey, or Sans being so suspicious, or Flowey doing... this. IF revived au's for me. I grew sick and tired of genocide and this au gives the pacifist run a new feeling. It invokes emotions possibly stronger than the ones in undertale without murder (besides the determinator series, which is my favorite chapter). Seriously good AU and I'm curious about the remaining chapters!

Ok so I was expecting this reveal to be insane, but that re-making of Flowey taking over the scene of everyone at the barrier was awesomely terrifying. The original Don't Give Up! sequence in Undertale is supposed to make you feel like you can defeat Flowey even with all that power, it fills you with hope, but you took that scene and made it even worse than before Omega Flowey's fight. Flowey's sadism was on full display, torturing everyone in front of Frisk and Chara, playing with his food, telling Papyrus to give up. Flowey even nearly kills Frisk, wanting to get rid of them so he can isolate Chara, but decides to let them live just to manipulate Chara even more. Frisk's friends still defend them, but it doesn't even matter, it's hopeless, Flowey just hurts them instead. You managed to make attacks where Flowey doesn't even hurt Frisk feel so tense and unnerving. Finally with everything under his control, the mask off, Flowey doesn't hold back in the slightest. Papyrus telling Frisk to just run was one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever witnessed. And then that ending sequence... "Asriel" isn't limiting his control to the Underground no more. With a fourth-wall breaking crash he's broken the barrier, and he's stealing the souls of everyone. But Lilac, she's just arrived. What can Lilac do to stop it? How can they help Frisk? And Chara, it looks like they were let go too. What now? I'm still awestruck by everything we've just seen. Awesome job everyone.

I was wondering what this version of the 'don't give up' section would be, I wasn't expecting it to be this epic! I never expected this to be the Asriel fight, we knew this wasn't the end and I honestly did see flowey keeping his word and breaking the barrier coming. I had even considered flowey destroying the surface (though I thought he was gonna do it while victory lap was happening so he could break the barrier to reveal HIS new world. But this is so much better than I imagined, inverted fate never ceases to amaze and I imagine the next 10 chapters and the final act will somehow be even better. Brilliant job as always, huge props to the whole IF team. And THIS is how you pull off an expected plot twist. Let’s be honest. Everyone knew this was going to happen (and I’m keeping it vague for people who are scrolling the comments and haven’t watched the video like PYSCHOPATHS!), but this so did not disappoint. This was something. So,after accidentally creating INVERTED FATE from UNDERTALE's world,flowey learned how to create a world where he made the exact rules and everything else exactly how he wanted,and at the end of INVERTED FATE he is now creating a new world that he named FATE where he has already controll over the whole world and tries to be friends again with chara,but we also meet a new human,Lilac (An old friend of frisk's,for who didn't know)

But "Asriel" not only breaks his world, oh no, but he's also ascended beyond that. This would mean absolute trouble if something isn't done to stop this from happening once again and somehow, Chara is back from the dead. This clearly isn't Asriel, but I wonder how this will all end. Lilac has also arrived to help out, I wonder if the three of them would stand together to put a stop to this madness once and for all. Also, for the music, if there's gonna be the final boss battle, then you better add a "passport guardian" motif somewhere in the music. "Asriel" has recognized his mistakes and won't make those again, considering he's now ascended to god-like status. i kinda take it at him internally planning what to do next such as each stage of the betrayal or even null/rift things rather than listening to the conversation. he seems to listen very carefully without changing his expression much when chara is speaking though.

Huh, while I did suspect that Flowey’s eventual betrayal would come as a big surprise to everyone involved, but i didn’t expect it to happen in such a instant though, i also didn’t expect things to go so straight to it once it did happen, In the Original Version, Flowey at least had it in him to let everyone say everything that they had to say at that moment before he struck, so i was expecting something similar here, However, this was a pretty welcomed surprise honestly and this turn off events does make sense in a way, i guess once Chara themselves also enter the scene, Flowey just couldn’t contain himself anymore, especially since that probably was quite a reveal to him too, huh? Regardless, this AU just keeps getting more and more interesting, can’t wait to see what more might be in store.

Huh, and all this time, i thought that Flowey’s Betrayal would be something that would’ve been a part of the End of this Story, but to think that this AU Story intends to continue even beyond this point? I have seen many AU Stories that has all been about doing some sort of Alternate Retelling of the Undertale Story and (besides some FanFictions) i don’t think I’ve seen anyone that has gone beyond Breaking the Barrier, very interesting. Do you intend to go full on JRPG on us or something now, Dorked? Hehehe, well, regardless, i will look forward to whatever more you have in store, this has gotten so much more interesting than I could’ve imagined, looking forward to the continuation, i hope it won’t disappoint.

Man, this month has been good for main antagonists. First Dr Eggman in Issue #50 IDW Sonic and now this. The fight with Flowey was a highlight of this episode with him deconstructing the heroes and their motivations while toying with them. And then he succeeds in rewriting the timeline (I like that neat trick in the BSOD section where the credits roll to distract you from noticing Asriel's progress in rewriting the timeline), which I feel will be very interesting. Assuming that the next chapter isn't just the final boss, perhaps Frisk and Chara are separated and are now trapped in a rewritten version of Mt Ebott (i.e based off the canon timeline but everyone's personalities have been altered and the whole thing feels off) while Asriel is off to "save" humanity by giving it "salvation". It's clear that Asriel has rewritten the narrative so that he's the main hero and that Frisk and Chara are selfish for wanting to destroy his happy ending. (The irony of course being Asriel rewriting Mt. Ebott to be like the previous timeline is selfish because it establishes how little the current timeline meant to him; it's also a contrast to Asriel's rampage in the Surface against humanity).

There is some flaws in this animation 1. In original Undertale, Omega Flowey lost because Frisk called for help allowing the 6 souls to rebel against him. Maybe we can do the same to Inverted Fate flowey considering there is a literal TV on the top left of the screen 2. We have a VERY slim chance of saving Flowey (Like in the Save goatbro fight), maybe trying to remind him of happy memories such as (eating Butterscotch pie, give him the heart locket we see in Undertale pacifist route, if frisk even have any.) 3. If Papyrus fleed with Frisk in the end of the animation, Flowey would have technically lost because he only had the power of 6.99 souls since he cannot absorb Papyrus's soul Also, not to mention in later episodes, it was revealed that Flowey was lying about breaking the barrier because instead of doing so, he literally TOOK control of the timeline instead

1: Flowey convinced the souls prior to this encounter to actually help him (It's shown in a previous part of the comic if you were not aware.), so there was no chance Frisk could have reached out in this time frame, especially since they were in deep emotional distress. 2: Asriel absolutely needs way way way more than just giving him happy memories. That is surface level at best and doesn't truly dive into his character at all, his experiences, his trauma, and his general attachment to Chara. The method for saving him absolutely won't be the same as Undertale in this case. 3: It wouldn't have mattered since Flowey's absorption was powerful enough to cover the entire underground, including all of new home where the monsters were, so no matter how far Papyrus or Frisk ran, Flowey would absorb papyrus anyways. Actually I might have already told you about some of this in other replies, but in that case there would be no need for this criticism comment anymore right?
