I saw Firehouse in 1991, three weeks after I almost died in a car accident. I had to sit for the show but it was worth it. Fast forward to a few years back and I was at their concert with my younger friend. He was wearing my concert shirt from 91 because I'm too fat now, and the drummer pointed at him with a stick and gave him a curious look like "where did you get that?" He pointed at me and I saw the recognition of an original fan. He smiled and nodded his head, and I smiled back. A great memory from a great band.

@RS-ol8or Жыл бұрын
Ditto! I was also 16 when this came out. Unfortunately, grunge came out shortly after some of these bands who had amazing music in 90 /91 & music & the culture shifted, sadly. I say sadly because in hindsight most grunge bands sucked; the musicianship & talent wasn’t even close with the exception of bands like Soundgarden & STP.
@patchesw38154 жыл бұрын
I think Firehouse would’ve made it bigger if they had hit the scene a few years earlier in 1988/89 when hair/glam metal & power ballads were at their peak. A shame that many of these bands got the rug pulled out from under them in late 1991 when Pearl Jam & Nirvana became video staples on MTV. Still a decent & underrated rock band.

Lyrics: I never thought you'd hurt me I guess you live and learn When you're playin' with fire You're bound to get burned Oh, I've been mistreated I've been used before I get kicked in the face Still I come back for more But I won't cry no more (won't cry no more) 'Cause the tears are all in vain We can pick up the pieces (can pick up the pieces) Start it all again Let's just get back to (just get back to) The way it was before Oh, girl I can't take anymore (can't take anymore) Baby, don't treat me bad (don't treat me bad) Well, this could be the best thing (oh-oh-oh-oh) That you'll ever have Baby, don't treat me bad (don't treat me bad) You can do anything but baby Don't treat me bad Oh, don't treat me bad I gave everything But you threw it all away I can't take anymore Of these games that you play Oh, I've been through heartache (ooh-ooh-ooh) And I've been through pain And it's hard to believe You still treat me this way But I won't cry no more (won't cry no more) 'Cause the tears are all in vain We can pick up the pieces (can pick up the pieces) Start it all again Let's just get back to (just get back to) The way it was before Oh, girl I can't take anymore (can't take anymore) Baby, don't treat me bad (don't treat me bad) Well, this could be the best thing (oh-oh-oh-oh) That you'll ever have Baby, don't treat me bad (don't treat me bad) You can do anything but baby Don't treat me bad No, don't treat me bad 'Cause girl, I can't take anymore Ooh, yeah Now listen to me Baby, don't treat me bad (don't treat me bad) Well, this could be the best thing (oh-oh-oh-oh) That you'll ever have Baby, don't treat me bad (don't treat me bad) You could do anything but baby Now listen to me Baby, don't treat me bad (don't treat me bad) Well, this could be the best thing (oh-oh-oh-oh) That you'll ever have Baby, don't treat me bad (don't treat me bad) You can do anything but baby Don't treat me bad (oh-oh-oh-oh) Don't treat me bad (oh-oh-oh-oh) No, oh, yeah, don't treat me bad No-no, no-no, no-no Don't treat me bad Don't treat me bad Oh-oh-oh, ah-ah-aah

Underrated band and song. My earliest memories are from around this time (1990/91) when the 80s glam sound was still thriving.
