FIRETRACKER - The KMC High Speed Steel Track Firefighting Vehicle (Skidgen)

The Fire Suppression Tanker Assembly is designed for mounting onto the 200 Series FMC and 2000 Series KMC "Soft Track" Vehicles. The machine is designed to assist in all types of Forest Fire applications from initial attack to mop-up. The uniqueness of the unit will prove itself with its 1100 imperial gallon (1300 US gallon) tank and the ability to work on very severe slopes up to 60% or on wet/boggy soils. This unit goes where other conventional machinery cannot. With four rear mounted, lay flat hose outlets and a forward mounted outlet to allow the operator to extinguish spot fires while traveling, makes for a very effective Fire Fighting Unit. "FIRE TRACKER" is also equipped with a foam application system to give the machine far more impact when working in the field.
Equipped with a separate load pump that can load the "FIRE TRACKER" in 5 minutes, there is no job on the fire line that we cannot help but make easier and more efficient. With our travel speeds of up to 15 miles an hour we can get anywhere you need to in a very short time, whether you are fighting a fire or using the unit as a water transfer machine.
The fabricated, steel tank holds 1100 imperial gallons (1300 U.S. gallons) and is designed to sit flat on the rear deck which, in turn, produces a very low center of gravity. Two (2) storage compartments are mounted lengthwise on the tank top to carry extra hoses, tools, and materials.

Watching this video make me wonder why there aren't more of these employed fighting fires. They make total sense to me. I guess the only modification would be a bigger water tank. Well done, gentlemen. Well done.

i've a lifelong love affair with big machines, locomotives, jets helicopters, heavy equipment of all types- and/or anything with a diesel engine thats huge and does work but this "thing" here just about takes the cake i mean wow!! ✊🏽

Now that`s what I`m talking about . I do like to see good operator protection though as I`ve been cooked in a CAT , grassfire over ran me and knocked out cold by trees . Excellent purpose built machine

You can use the existing water pump to make a Venturi water pump thus eliminating my previous pto pump idea. I can do this all day

There are definitely advantages with the torsion bar/track system. Who makes your track shoe castings? Have you used forgings?

Our foundry is located in calgary. We have tried just about every manufacturing process we can think of for the shoes.

We offer these machines at a variety of price points, mainly being in the $125,000 - $300,000 range. Every machine is custom built so we have quite a bit of flexibility depending on the jobsite requirements. After a few thousand hours you might notice some wear on the track bushings, but it is quite efficient to have individual pads replaced and rebushed if necessary. The pads themselves are made from a manganese alloy and will work harden substantially, and should last just as long if not longer then any tracked equipment you may be used to.

How much diesel fuel does this go through in an hour?

Fuel consumption can vary quite a bit from one power plant to another, as well as with the type of work being done. We find that our most popular engine, the 5.9 Cummins, often uses about 4.5 gallons of fuel per hour when working quite heavily.
