Thanks for sharing your experience Mike, it's great to get footage from non professional surfers. It's hard to compare with the Evo, the waves look quite different to me (aside from height). As you said though that board is meant to be good in those waves... Keep us updated, cheers.

Yes, you could be right. I surfed the Evo and a board made by Ferox ( the flexter), which has a similar outline but a more drawn-in tail. Those boards would go fast in tiny waves. But let's see, I hope you are right 🤞🤞

Nice video 👍 and I agree, the evo looks faster and easier in smaller waves.

nice review , the Evo looks way faster and free in turns , Rob Machado makes all boards look fast , even the Glazer which I had and found it to be a pig to surf slowest board Ive ever surfed, it caught the wave early but wouldnt drop down them and lacked drive out of turns , it was like there was way too much going on in the bottom shape , with all the concaves and Vee off the side , made it suck onto the face.

I think you're right about the bottom shapes. The Mashup and the Cado feel like they have resistance and don't easily project down the line-particularly the Cado. “Suck into the Face” is spot on just surfed the Cado in 5-foot, fairly powerful waves, and it didnt feel great; I'm pretty disappointed, but I will have to keep going and hopefully master it. With deck grips and fins, it was 1k for each board🙁

Consider giving it a try with the Machado 2+1’s with out the trailer. Board itself has a lot of drive baked in. Feels like it’s easy to over fin it

Yes, I will give it a go for sure! 🙏I have the F1 Future 2+1 with a smaller trailer, which I need to try.🤙

What size was that Evo? Quad? I've really enjoyed the Machadocado, but that comparison really makes the Evo look magic

5’ 6” three fins set up; I didnt like it as a quad🤙

@surfingtipsandtricks so Evo your favourite over the Cado?
@surfingtipsandtricks2 ай бұрын
@tezf6883 I was just making a comparison. I still have that Evo, but I have surfed it to death, and I don't really want to surf it anymore. I'm definitely going to keep riding The Cado. But I was surprised by how slow I looked on it. Maybe it's the conditions that I have surfed it in so far 9 second wave period summer surf, not much wall. In the clips I am fighting to keep it going on some sections. When you watch Rob, he is going so fast without much effort. Maybe I am surfing it wrong 😂 I have had 5 surfs on it so far 🤙

How does the Evo go in weak mushy waves? And does it get vertical? Looks really fun. Cheers!
@surfingtipsandtricks2 ай бұрын
Yes, it does go really well in Mushy Waves and will go vertical. It is one of the best boards I have ever owned. I rode it the other day (it's really brown now) in really bad small surf just before I bought the Cado, and it still flew!

I can get my hands on a 5 8’ Evo at 35.6 litres. Worried it might be too big for me? I’m 6ft 85kg. Advanced intermediate. Chasing a high performance feel. What are your thoughts on sizing? Many thanks!
@surfingtipsandtricks2 ай бұрын
I think the 5’8 would be fine; I ride the 5’6. I could have surfed the model below, but the 5’6 was the only one. I am 5’11 and 78kg. Great you can get your hands on one!🤙 here are some videos of me surfing it: I could have ridden the smaller model, but it didn't take away any enjoyment of riding that board. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4KZdWSpp7aIaKcsi=pW8YR4zvyCXthusF kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4fCeX5nl5uJmcUsi=qXWDGcyRxNEPnydH kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGqmYpqPl8p0gMksi=D9HyHajauv5lgwrC

i feel machado's board is difficult to ride. i prefer dan mann shapes for the groveler.

Yes, I don't usually have a problem jumping from board to board. But the MashUp and the Machadocado are a challenge for me anyway 😂
