Nice oak trees. Dan you need to get a tractor big enough to lift those logs so they don’t get dragged in the dirt. Great to help your parents out. It was nice to see family working together.
@Back40FirewoodАй бұрын
Would need a BIG tractor for a few of those...lol

@Back40FirewoodАй бұрын
Nope, no mill around...and not really anyway to get the logs to one if there was. Better off as firewood to keep the farm warm! lol

I didn't use the Hexa chain cuz of the dirt...didn't want to lose the edge on it right away.

That will make a lot of split firewood!! What's your estimate, is that 5 cords, split and stacked? How much does Woodhound Sr. burn in a year? In other words, will that be a years worth? More? Less? We're hitting 70F today, 77 tomorrow, and 80 on Halloween!! At this rate we might burn way less than our normal 3 cords per winter (Plus 1/2 to 1 cord in the workshop). I know our burning season is shorter, and our Low temps don't get anywhere near what you get.
@Back40FirewoodАй бұрын
Yep we had 79 here today....now rain and a cool off for tomorrow & rest of the week. My dad burns around 5 cords a year...there's probably that much in just the logs I cut up....will end up being a LOT of wood.

Bet Sr wouldn't say no to a 500i or 400c for Xmas
@Back40FirewoodАй бұрын
Not sure....he still likes running the 051 too much.
@RussKullanderАй бұрын
Why would you cut that nice strait OAK log into firewood ? what a waste of good oak lumber
@Back40FirewoodАй бұрын
More value in the logs as firewood for them. Don't have a mill and no way to load or haul to a mill....and then what $$ a mill would pay probably wouldn't be much.
@back40woodhoundsenior93Ай бұрын
well here is the deal iy would cost me more to get the logs to the millthan they are worth. the SR.
