Recording Mission sounds like a good start, but an option to smooth/ramp the transitions between the waypoints would make that feature far more usable for video purposes.

I just upgraded from a Mavic Mini to the EVO II after reviewing the various comparisons and other research. It arrive within a couple of days, was easy to set up, and now playing with the various settings/features. Must say, what an amazing drone and I look forward to plenty of flying. Very impressed!

Thank you for the update. I have read through the comments so far and have not seen a request for use of KMLs created in GE for mission planning. It can make many types of missions easier. Is this in the dev pipeline? Also, AirCamDrone's comment about a "smart return home" feature is completely brilliant. That would be amazing. Thank you again Autel Team.

I tested the firmware and the program in the beta version. Nice step forward! A lot has been fixed. But there are a few things to do. 1. It is very bad that there is no camera settings button (Android ) when creating a mission like on IOS devices. 2. It's too bad that there is still no screen button for ludicrous mode. 3.The transition through way points without stopping has not been corrected. 4.When the window to switch between camera view and map view is minimized, it is very difficult to maximize the window after creating a mission

Totally agree, the stopping at each waypoint is a major flight time waste and makes missions useless for preprogramming video shots. Definitely need a ludicrous switch as an option onscreen or programmable on A/B

First let me say I love my Evo Pro. I'd really like to be able to save missions between my devices through my Autel account. I work for a mapping company and have to spend extended periods of time in the field capturing footage. Sometimes my drone operating device (tablet, phone, monitor etc) is not right for the job. It would be great if I could use any device to execute a mission. Keep up the good work!

As many other guys I'd like to have a pano mode (horizontal, vertical and 360). As a professional photographer I use it a lot, and it's a pity that such a good camera doesn't benefit to this useful and easy to implement feature. I mean even my anafi does have it. Very good update nonetheless !

The ability to take RAW images in Missions is a welcome addition. When will the recording of video in Rectangle and Polygon Missions be added? I am led to believe feature was possible with the Evo 1. This is an important feature when doing surveys and for search & rescue. All the time it is missing means that we have to resort to DJI kit. One other “nice to have” feature is Panoramas, obviously recording in RAW. Even the DJI Mini 2 can do Panoramas in RAW.

Obstacle avoidance sensitivity adjustable. Right now it wants to stop 15 feet from a subject. It is way to sensitive and you guys are getting reamed by that from reviewers. Add a sensitivity slider to the app!

I love the updates in this release! But a HUGE improvement for the mission Recording mode, would be that the way points that are captured are used for video mode! I was really surprised that it just took the pics... That's obviously good too, but there needs to be an option like "Use for video?" I wanted the ability to record waypoints for a long time, but it needs to work with video! Also, as mentioned by others, having the drone pause at waypoints makes the video unusable in most situations... the video needs to be one continuous smooth motion... When I saw the pauses at the waypoints, I couldn't use it! And definitely too, the waypoints need to have an arc feature.. that can be tightened up or made into a very smooth flowing arc. Also for any kind of cinematic effect, it can't have that hard angle transition. And in a mission I just was doing for a client, there were 2 POI... when it switched from one to the other, it did a whip pan instead of a ease in/out transition.. this also made the video not usable. This is an awesome drone and have been using it ton especially for map making/3d models... The camera is great for that! With these few changes, it would be really awesome! Thanks!

Considering i'm still having issues with it 'losing' AGL altitude throughout the flight...and i go to land and it says i'm -47 ft at my take-off point. Customer support just kept saying it was because i took off too soon. But at no point in my flight did i all of a sudden lose 47 ft. I find it happens most often if the Evo2 is preforming more intense maneuvers like from the dynamic tracking ect.

I would love to be able to control what software version I want in MY drone. And be able to revert back to ANY version I want. WHEN I want. Are you listening?

Great update. Still I'd like to see Gimbal Adjustments for Roll, Pitch, and Yaw not buried in the menus. I'd like it on an assignable button, or a single tap icon on the app front view. I fly in windy areas, and changing direction that horizon often has to be adjusted a degree or so (especially for photos). Change direction, and you have to do this again. Going into menu settings every time for this is a real pain. ALSO please move the adjustment screen to the L or R side and not in the middle. The adjustment screens block the views of the subject in the center. Thanks

I thought i'd seen a video where someone was able to switch their remote control frequency to 5k or 10k...because mine is 2.4k right now and the range is utter crap. I get 1,500 ft away and i have to start being careful to not loose signal.

Keep the updates coming. Can you focus on longstanding issues before adding new features? See below: Can you fix standard color profile on 8k? From what I can tell it can't be exposed correctly. The histogram is wrong, the blacks get smashed and the highlights also clip. While I shoot LOG I like the look of HDR with its deeper blue skies, and often want to share clips quickly without a lot of post. It still appears that colors have a magenta shift. This is most noticeable with very green trees next to water in the spring, the water will be incorrectly purple. It's not always easy to correct for this in post. Why can't I use HDR in LOG profile too without highlights clipping like crazy? Shadows look OK but highlights clip to oblivion And its unusable. Bummer. Also, please work on making calibrations more forgiving. Every update I have to do them each more than once to stop yaw drift Lastly, mission planning is so far useless for cinematic video because the waypoints aren't smooth and you can't do curved paths and can't keep moving through waypoints. Why must the drone stop at each waypoint? That wastes flight time too.

I'm having an issue where the interval minimum in hyperlapse is 4 secs instead of 2 all of a sudden. In fact, it'll say 2 sec @ first, then switch to four. When I exit the app & go back it does the same thing. I tried shortening & lengthening the duration & distance & nothing seems to work. I get the best hyperlapses out of 2 sec intervals & it not being an option anymore is TRULY irksome. Especially when I paid almost 2K for this item.

i think Autel evo modes is really good, but is missing very important mode (course lock mode) which is should be in any drone because can get so nice shots with it , i don't know why they don't put it, especially is it so classic mode ... also important to make it possible to move the yaw during viewpoint mode ( tap to fly mode) also to add POI to it ... will be so useful .. the zoom is good but should be smooth changing and continuously between x1 to x2 to ... x8

Can you look into video lag on some android devices, like Note 9? I don't know why, s9 is fine with same version of app, same cpu, less ram and same OS version, but Note 9 the app live feed stutters bad. It almost led to a crash.

It's there now, in Google Play Store. (As a general principle, if an app hasn't cleared Google's no-malware screening, it's not going on my primary phone, at least not until it does. Took the better part of week after Autel dropped the update until it showed up on Google Play Store.) Note too, Autel tried to force sideloading the app update from their website, with the f/w update. That didn't work with Android 11... but app update is necessary for new f/w that dropped at the same time. The reverse scenario is not a problem-- you aren't required to use the new f/w to use the new app update, you just won't get the new features, but the bug fix of now having EXP on the right stick (pitch, roll) was reason enough to update the app

Not an April Fool's joke. You need to do this for each battery. Upsides are the process is much quicker (~5min) and now the battery's S/N shows up in the flight log, for making commercial pilot reporting compliance simpler. Note that when you use the recommended method of d/l the .bin file to a MicroSD card (and installing it in the EVO II rather than updating over-the-air), you'll need to drag the .bin file onto the card for each battery since the unpacking/updating process erases the file at completion

It appears that the software update glitches ... I'll try and explain... Mission preplotted... and the flight initiated... the drone performs exactly as it should... But the observer didn't have a camera feed (via the live deck)... as the pilot I had a camera feed, but couldn't change the digital zoom. No amount of tapping or pinching would yield results. When I paused the mission (revert back to manual) the Live deck operator would get the feed back. If I operated manually; the the Live Deck operator and myself would both have the live feed and associated camera controls. When’s the next update?

Does Autel have their own version of ocusync?...how well does Evo II SERIES fare in a environment with heavy wifi interference.

It's not ocusync as that is dji proprietary, but It doesn't need to be. It's quite good in congested areas and I've never had nay problems. You can always get a 4hawks or alientech amplifier if you really need serious range, but I've never been left wanting more

If you don't know which ones are GPS satellites, or can't choose to lock out Beidou or GLONASS or Galileo, what's the point to knowing specific number? Do you watch when flying under trees or tall building shadows during flight or just before taking off?

Evo need a smart controller, the updates are nice and all, 2 big things Changing modes from regular mode to Sport mode should be outside of the controller, Q there should be a smart controller nobody likes the controller that you all have ! It’s small it doesn’t work right for most of your drone flyers that have big hands ….

HI, With the latest APP (1.1.7.38) now the APP is working with Android below version 9.0. using anything below this version (Beta) would crash the app when you selected "Mission" although I did report this I never had any response. It is now back to working down to 7.0 version, this means my two other older tablets, 7.1 and 8.0 and one Samsung S7 Edge phone 8.1 can be used again... so this is really good, what is not so good is I never had a response and it seems more luck than judgement it now works OK. People I spoke to on various sites and blogs all said , yes you need Android 9.0 I was even shown an extract which seemed to be from Autel saying the same thing...! Any comment appreciated, did Autel know this, was it fixed by accident, are you going to consider this next time there is an update...? Thanks

Finally MSL support. Been waiting for this. Uploaded a waypoint mission and and change the altitude to MSL. Waypoints were set to Flyover and taking images every 20m. Everything worked great until I had the Evo 2 Pro return mid mission for a battery change. When powered back on, it asks if want to continue mission and I selected yes. At this point it resets all of my settings for the mission back to ASL and removes the photo settings. This needs to be repaired. No way to continue a mission. Great improvements though. Keep it up.

Stopped using the Explorer App ever since you thought you had the right to retrospectively nannystate control what i can and cant do with MY drone. I fly using the controller screen only now (I also kept the old version of the app on an Ipad mini with updates disabled, for when i really need a proper screen). MY DRONE not yours (and the people misusing drones will find ways around regulation anyway, all its does it piss off responsible users). Back when i originally bought it, the ONLY reason i bought EVO is because DJI are as bad as Apple for thinking it knows best and meddling with peoples devices. EVO didnt do this. (Only for them to then follow). Implement all the forced control you like, wont affect me. (I have common sense not to use it when and where it shouldnt be). Damn sure I wont buy EVO again though.
