This is my favorite can for Apes! I’d be cautious running this long term though until a tune comes out for the ECU. These things are notorious for dropping valves.

I’m running a decat akra and it runs just as well if not better than with the cats installed. DEFINITELY runs cooler. Got very hot with cats. Yes the factory ecu has throttle restrictions and emissions regulations ..aside from that the bike runs very well without cats. No surging, no stalling, no overheating, no engine codes/lights etc. plenty of power. The more modern bikes/ecus are more able to adjust to changes in airflow. Having said that of course a tune would be ideal to get the most performance out of this setup.

Looks and sounds amazing, off topic but where did you find the Italian tricolore decal on the tail fairing? Adds a dash of color to the bike. Also I like the tail tidy unit, what brand is that? I have the exact same machine and am planning on duplicating your efforts, thanks!

That decal was custom. Any custom decal ship can make one or you can cut it to fit. The tail tidy is Evotech. Right on!

Hi Victor, do you know if the lower mounting bracket would have lined up if using a set of rearsets that do have the mounting point (oem or aftermarket)? I’m looking to get this version of the sc project exhaust but instead of chopping off the bracket maybe getting a set of attack rearsets so the exhaust is mounted at both points. Thanks in advance

I've been told if you put an after market pipe on, you have to get the bike re-mapped or it could run too lean and blow up?. Ie. put the race map on it. Is this the case?

Adding a servo bypass is enough to have no errors for that. Adding a race map is ideal.

If you rather not cut off the mounting tab use the right side foot rest mount with exhaust mount, it works perfectly.
