Im someone who is a late bloomer to this type of stuff. I was going through some stuff and gave up on life. I became a shut in that didnt care. I got a job, made good money and gave up on EVERYTHING else. Just about as full of a shutdown as I could get away with. But I fought like hell and now im trying desperately to play catch up and get everything back on track. This type of content is exactly the push I need. Sometimes being armed with information and knowledge is all you need to get the confidence you need to get yourself where you need to be in life. This recovering extreme introvert seriously thanks you. You got my subscription.

Got around $10k saved up thanks to some video i found here on how to budget. Sat down and crunched the numbers to see what I can actually afford, without having to live paycheck to paycheck. My only and biggest concern is my credit, which I'll be honest is complete shit. I'm concerned that it'll prevent me from getting a place since i know most apartment complexes run a credit check
@AdultingShouldntSuck
@AdultingShouldntSuck 3 жыл бұрын
That’s a good amount of money that you saved up and I hope that video helped you how to budget was ours! Bad Credit can totally shut down a moving plan, but a lot of times places will still accept you if you’re willing to pay a bigger security deposit. When you’re applying for apartments or other places to live, just be straight up with them. If you know your credit score, tell them and ask them if it will be a problem. If you have anything bad on your credit, explain your situation and how it’s since resolved itself and how you’re trying to better it. More times than not, they’re super understanding and willing to work with you.

Glad you’re enjoying the videos! Hard spot if your parents aren’t letting you get a job. I would sit down with them and find out why they don’t want you to get a job and see if you guys can come up with a solution that satisfies both of you. If not, maybe you can get a room with someone you know that already has a place and then hunt extremely hard for a job so you’re carrying your own weight.

i'm 16 almost 17 and i want a job so i can start saving up because i want to move out as soon as possible, but my parents wont let me get a job. they say if i get a job it'll distract me from school & i'll fail. i dont even have a credit card yet 😭 i don't know what to do

One of my favorite things to do - prove people wrong! I think you should (respectfully) talk to your parents about you getting a job. Tell them how determined you are and that if your grades start dropping in school because of your job, you’ll quit! Gotta continuously tell your parents that you have plans/goals. Doing work and staying up on school will show them that!

Ok so stressful time in my life. But me and my buddy both need to move out and my only parent is moving out of state. We both don’t have a lot of money but we started full time jobs. Do apartments work with you even if you don’t have good amount of money for security deposits
@AdultingShouldntSuck
@AdultingShouldntSuck 2 жыл бұрын
Security deposits can be different everywhere. If you get some free time, I would go to an apartment you guys are considering and talk with the management to see what they do for security deposits. Recently my sister moved out and their security deposit was only $350 on a 2 bedroom apartment that was $1000 a month for rent.

I’ve made so many different budgets for my move and I don’t think I’m doing it right. My boyfriend and I don’t make that much and work in fast food but somehow we seem to be saving 600-800 each month. I don’t think that’s realistic. The rent is cheap, for the area but I don’t know if I’m doing anything wrong. Please help.

Great tips. I am planning on moving out in the next 6 months( I hope). The first step is the hardest finding a job or a way to make money so I can save up for moving out. Do you guys have any tips on budgeting once I do get an income? Currently, I don't have an income so I don't really have a plan on how much to spend/save.

Yeah, finding steady income can be hard when you’re just starting out. We have an entire playlist on how to make a budget and another playlist on moving out. It will cover how much to save and etc. check it out!
