Thanks for the video, enjoying this series! I quite like watching the things being built as opposed to jump cut and it’s all done, so time lapse would be really nice

cool, I'm the same but I know that not every likes timelapses which is why I asked. I have a cunning plan :)

Colony is progressing well! A few points: -Seems we were churning out gears the whole time being out of planks and logs... maybe pausing gears would help. -The water in the river between the colony and scrap metal island seems fast flowing and good for water wheels. All that's needed is a vertical shaft to bring it up. -Once we get metal going, definitely want to unlock sluices to automate badwater and irrigation levels.

Thanks, Both points already noted in previous comments and on my list for the next video :)

Moderation and cheese should only apply in certain situations. And I hope you enjoy the videos.

#1 look after yourself, make sure you wrap up warm and here's a wishing you get well soon. Nice progress! 28:00 Smelter needs charcoal to run too. (Also if you're making charcoal you could also upgrade to the mid-size engine). 35:55 There's a "Planting Override" mod to allow planting over existing crops/trees. 41:25 Also set scrap metal storage to obtain? 45:20 So why levees in the middle squiggle of the dam, but platforms for the other two? 49:50 Maybe add another forester (or farmer) at the bottom of the cliff where you're building the new dam. There's a large green spot there where things could grow during the drought (obviously will be drowned when the drought is over, but that's in over 30 days so even oak would have time to grow). Things you already addressed in the video: 7:05 You didn't check set height above... 8:45 Huh, you must have caught it in time. 18:08 What you doing with devmode? 😛26:50 ahh, thumbnail, for disable fog? 19:02 Corn not being harvested because the priority resource is set to radish. 20:15 ahh, you figured it out. 43:30 You can't build the 4 levees without something to reach them. 47:55 warehouse cheese works for that.
@DisTurbedSimulationsКүн бұрын
28:00 Good point - forgot to switch over that building 35:55 Might have to add that 45:20 Because like life timberborn contruction is not always perfect. 49:50 Patience, 1 build at a time. 18:08 What you doing with devmode? 😛26:50 ahh, thumbnail, for disable fog? Correct - Nvidia seems to have stopped reconising timberborn as a game at the moment so their photomode doesn't help make nice thumbnails which is really annoying

It looked like one of two things for the mouse. either you have dead batteries in a wireless mouse. or you have a laser mouse and mold has grown on your desk. use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol to clean it off with a rough towel. getting a mousepad also works.
@DisTurbedSimulations2 күн бұрын
Option A i think, as I was using a mouse pad and also not at my desk in a hotel room. Switched to my backup for editing and that worked fine

Enjoying your content. With that said, Ngl. I'm really jealous on how easy the apocalypse settings are when you have clean water to use. 😂 i used your settings but I did it on a map that had mixed water called bad spring v2. If your a masochist... i still wouldn't recommend it. Tho after you finish this season I'd personally love to see you try. (I do recommend emberpelts I don't think it'd be possible with otherwise) the droughts and bad tide at 100+ days are truly a nightmare where you can go through thousands of water just in irrigation.
@DisTurbedSimulationsКүн бұрын
Lol I played the map JC is playing with emberpelts without apocalypse settings and it didn't go well. This is also based on a lot of practice trying JC's original super hard apocalypse settings over Christmas, checking out my video touring the colony I build if you're curious)

44:20 You've gone 1 levee to high.You need to put in dams and add dams where you cross over to block the bad water. This will give you a vast area to grow water planted food, if there is any!
@andrewjohnson6162Күн бұрын
Forget I said any of that. LOL
@DisTurbedSimulationsКүн бұрын
I do need to add something to let out water, so a few dams or flood gates on the top, and sluices to grain it if it gets contaminated.
@KunalVaidyaКүн бұрын
perhaps upstream of the water storage area can also be diverted such that badwater goes to other tributary on the other side of colony near the metal
@DisTurbedSimulationsКүн бұрын
In the future maybe, for now the dam and flow mechanics should cause most to divert around anyway.
@KunalVaidyaКүн бұрын

When a bad tide hits.. those levee's are gonna cause mayhem lol I'd concentrate on closing off the bad water source.. the dam can get built after w/o "bad" effects ba dum TSS! lol OH!! when making a dam... on it's lowest level, you wanna have sleuths.. so you can refill :D umm... water evaporates based on surface tiles.. Deeper means you can hold onto water longer before evaporation... So... Glad you're building having a tall dam in mind! :D Rest well!! I hope you feel better fast :D oh!! Don't forget about meking an upstream bad water diversion for when bad tides hit... Don't want your full dam of water to get contaminated lol .. Beavers don't like that... Makes them glow in the dark so they don't get a good night sleep! LOL
@DisTurbedSimulationsКүн бұрын
There are so many other exits for water on the map I really don't expect blocking off a 3 wide channel will cause a big problem. As for closing off the source, we are so far from having access to the tech for that I thing the simple divert is a better option, noting that building the dam while the area is dry avoids the wet fur penalty that the emberpelts has. I agree about sluices, but for purging if needed, filling is from above in this case. And there should be no need to divert upstream in this case, that's what the first smaller dam is for, to stop bad water getting in.

Make sure you replace the path to the scrap metal before you dam off the other side to start your reservoir. It will increase the depth of the water and flow over the platforms and start contaminating the beavers that go to the scrap metal area. Or switch to 2 high platforms, that should work too. Granted, I haven't finished the video yet so you might have already done that.. I usually use the high water flow between plateaus for waterwheels. Tons of power and easy way to power smelters right next to the metal gatherers

I hope your well enough make videos and not doing it cause of KZbin and it’s stupid algorithms. I had the flu at end of December and watching your videos was a good way to recover and hate to think you forcing yourself to play if you felt like I did. Get well soon.

Time lapse is fine. Add barriers to all sides of upper diversion, since you want to green it up for trees & crops. Maybe redo longest levee to be left of ladders & use ladders to get on top of levees. Also, use levees to get across river / reservoir in future.
@DisTurbedSimulationsКүн бұрын
good point about barriers, and yeah I'll need to keep the beavers dry so will be using the levees to cross the reservoir in the future.

Take a few days and get better, pppllleeeaaassseee. While your getting better, please, consider putting in water wheels in next to your scrap metal access bridge (34:17), while you still have it. You can then send the power up to the industrial area.

For now plant some more trees I guess at the area you are damming. As the drought is longer than 30 days, you can have a batch of oak planted & harvested.

@hasanmahmud8602Күн бұрын
You are just overcomplicating the contamination barriers by not building them at the edge, cause that way you would only need 7 barriers which would save you time & resources, & most importantly getting a few more tile to plant trees. & about paths, place path around the medium tank & rotate the medical bed 90°.
