Great sweeps! Its hard to beleve you trane only 5 months. You have to work on your back control more and learn how to one flue choke (basicly sholder pressure on his neck) when oponent is trying to headlock you in sidecontrol - terible mistake of his.

@@mikebasketball11 thank you brother 🙏 That’s exciting! I would drill a guard pull or a take down depending on your style and preference. Drill a pass and a guard retention. Drill one submission. Make sure you are familiar with the positions and how to score points. Take your time, relax, and don’t go balls to the wall. I wouldn’t even focus on winning. Just try and see if you can hit a few moves very well and if you win great and if you lose you learn and improve no matter what. Hope this helps. Let me know how you do.

I've been technically practicing bjj for 1 year, and just registered for a tournament, but I accidentally registered for the white belt 6 months training division instead of the regular white belt division and I couldn't find out how to refund because I did it online. But Ive been encouraged to stay in this division mainly because even though I've been technically training for a year I've never trained in a jiu jitsu school and only have 2 rolling partners available to me and everything I've learned is off the internet. Would I be a douche for signing up for the 6 month training division, or would it be fair taking into consideration my limited resources?

Any advice you can give someone for their first tournament?
@sirkennethc6
@sirkennethc6 4 жыл бұрын
Brian Lynn yes! 1) Know the positions and what points you get for them. 2) Have a game plan- are you going to pull guard or take downs? Submission or points? Things may not go as planned but can give you an advantage over someone who doesn’t have a game plan. 3) Take your time and relax so you don’t burn out so quickly and lose because of fatigue. 4) Enjoy each moment of nervousness, anxiety, excitement, and many other emotions that come with your first tournament.
