sooo.... you didn't know that romania has best internet in the wooorld ??? i think you should download all the series for the next 6-7 months that you wanna watch cause.... hey ... romania :) if you're still here :) i would recommend The good fight, madame secretary, shooter, homeland, just to name a few. oh and it's a mini series called Comrade Detective. it makes fun of the communist era we had, and the propaganda of the time. it's filmed in romanian and Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt voice the main characters. the voice over is the hole point. here is the trailer www.imdb.com/title/tt5834198/videoplayer/vi657897753?ref_=tt_ov_vi can't wait to see your next video !!! va pup ! Thanks for the video! As a native Romanian myself (and have been back a few times since leaving as a child) this was pretty cool, especially to see outsiders' perspectives. I am very impressed that you guys chose to go to Romania. It is a largely undiscovered treasure, and more and more tourists are finding this out. Not many tourists, and especially Americans, choose to go off the beaten bath, and for that I applaud you. I hope you can go back to Romania someday, because there are so many other cool things to see. A couple of things for ya: • You went to Gara Basarab, which is a commuter station close to the main train station (Gara de Nord) and that's why you had to walk through the 'weird tunnel' -- btw, thanks for walking through that and sparing me the trouble (I always wondered what it's like, and whether the moving sidewalk actually works ... now I know!) • Loved the berries on the train. So you know, that's pretty usual especially when taking the train through the mountains. Locals will board the train, usually in Brașov, sell their wares, and get off. You just have to be careful who you're buying from. Not all so clean. But the ones you guys got looked yumm! • Next time you're taking the train through the Carpathian mountains get off at Sinaia and see the Peleș castle. Well worth it. • Thank you for not wasting your time (and ours) with Bran and the whole Dracula thing ... • Hopefully you've had a chance to research Sibiu a bit (you seemed to not know why everything looked 'medieval', etc.) ... you will find its history, its German roots, etc., fascinating and, lastly ... • Please, for the love of Pete (and this goes for all Americans) stop being so in wonder when "everything is in grams", etc. ... please don't tell us you are converting to pounds in your head, because that only helps to further our wonderment over how you can be the only country that still seriously uses the Imperial system. The rest of the world has moved on, peeps! The metric system is in use in 99.5% of countries in the world. You don't need to point that out ("Oh, it's in grams!") and we don't need that "it's so cute" tone. The American system is the one that's different--the rest of the world uses metric (including my country, Canada ... your neighboUr) Thanks again for a very enjoyable video!

I'm actually pausing the video to comment before even watching the rest of it. The train ride montage that begins at 3:00 is so bloody wonderful! It reminds me of a Miyazaki sequence, specifically the train ride in "Spirited Away." The music, the strange, old, melancholy scenes, the gentle switch in and out of slow motion, the way Eric's voice comes in early to carry us out -- that was simply spectacular. Hang on -- I have to watch it a third time. Then on to the rest of the video... :)

Romania is beautiful. This post reminds me of the time we nearly missed our connection from Budapest to Istanbul. We only had 45 minutes between connections at Bucharest and the night train in from Budapest was running an hour late. We got into Bucharest late and then on the wrong platform and had to run back up one platform and down another in 80f. Luckily, the Istanbul sleeper was also delayed and so we just made it by the skin of our teeth. There's more to this story but I won't bore you with the details. However, for future reference the train is a good way to get to Istanbul.
@barvdw6 жыл бұрын
But next time, you might want to stay the night in Bucharest in stead of rushing through. There's enough to explore for at least one day, and you won't have to worry about missed connections. If you missed the train to Istanbul, you might have a chance to overtake it by bus, going to Ruse, the Bulgarian entry city on the Danube. The bus should take you about 1 to 2 hours, the trains needs 3 taking a large detour via Videle. In winter time, you should change in Ruse anyways, and the train will stay in the station for at least an hour, not leaving before 4pm. But as said, you might want to stay a little longer, anyways.

It's been a lot of fun watching you adapt to the situations around you. Things are much different than a lot of your previous destinations. I kind of wish that you could expand just a little bit of in some of those differences just a little bit more. Eric, trying to get the tailbone looked at. I broke mine is in a fall when I was in the my late 20's and it has been chronic. Not that it is a daily issue, but it's been a reminder of a single fall since then. I've been told that more could have been done way back then, but that now, the surgical solution might not be worth a sketchy result. Can't wait for the next post guys.

Looking forward to see more of your adventures. Please note that you don't need to buy tickets from first class because our railroads and trains are from the last century. My advice is to travel by the car. Rent one or if you don't have licence go with the bus. Is more cheaper, and you can see more of Romania like that. Hope you'll stay more and see more. Defenetly you have to go to the Seaside. If you are going to Cluj you may not have a place to stay because it's UNTOLD FESTIVAL and everything is Booked from last year.Greetings from Bucharest!
@barvdw6 жыл бұрын
I quite liked your trains. Yes, some are old, but most are definitely passable, And I positively hate buses, I try to avoid them as much as possible. I get car sick within an hour or two, on a train, never. And you can't see much, but honestly, if it's to drive on highways, I prefer to be on a train, it's not always the prettiest sight, but it's always interesting. I hardly see the difference between a highway in say Germany or France, and couldn't tell whether it's Hungarian asphalt or Romanian...

Well the old town in Sibiu is really nice and well preserved. I recommend going on Strada Cetatii, a very pretty street in the centre with a parc next to it. Also the Lutheran church, climb up you have a beautiful view from up there, the Brukenthal Museum, a donut at Donuterie, really good. If you have time, get an Uber and go to the Astra Museum, its a really big Green Space with Traditional houses, but book an entire day for that cause there is a lot to see. For food i recommend Benjamin's stakehouse, Hermania Restaurant in the city centre, and Camara Boierului near the Astra Museum. Have fun.

If you’ve broken your coccyx (tail bone) it’s slow to heal due to the constant movement. It could take 12 weeks to start healing but it could be painful for a few more. Keep using your donut, avoid jarring and strenuous exercise (swimming might help to realign muscles) use anti inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen, or nurofen this will reduce internal swelling. Ice packs or rub in pain relief should help too.

That room is AMAZING!!! Also, don’t worry too much about the tailbone - just keep your weight off of it as much as possible and it’ll heal! Hurting your tailbone definitely does improve your posture over time, though. Maybe a small positive thing to come out of all the pain? Haha

***Improve it since you have to sit up straight all the time.

Hi guys! I am from Romania. If you have time, you should visit the painted monasteries from Moldova. It will be a spiritual trip. I love you all. Greetings from a romanian living in Canada.
