First coronavirus death outside China reported | DW News

The Phillipines has reported the first death from the new coronavirus outside of China. Officials in Manila said the 44-year-old man came from Wuhan, the Chinese province hardest-hit by the outbreak. The death toll in China has now topped 300. More than 14 thousand people have now been infected worldwide, almost all of them on the Chinese mainland. The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus has now overtaken the SARS epidemic of 2003.

Today's headline from Indonesian' news channel : - Finally the Goverment refused visitors from China, and postponed free visa for them. - Indonesian' citizens are coming back today with chartered plane, and they will quarantined at some island ( as seen on the thumbnail). They're still not any reported case in Indonesia yet, hopefully will stay that way.

My family mostly living in Java and Sumatra. And Im so so so worry. Since Indonesian people have a bad Hygiene Sanitation habit. Trust me, South East Asia countries are still bad for Hygiene Sanitation. Even Singapore and Malaysia, I still dont trust. I can say it cos Imma Chef myself, and been working in many countries. Even the five stars hotel in USA, cant guarantee. Please, cook ur own food at home, take care of urselves. I tried my best here to keep maintaining Hygiene Sanitation in our restaurant kitchen, but still need to be more and more cautious. Stay safe kawan2 di Indonesia.

Apparently it may have been caused by a bacterial infection attacking the lungs as a result AFTER he was cured. So technically he was fine, but opportunist bacteria may have dealt the final blow. Definitely unfortunate and sad, but if that is true, that means the virus wasn’t responsible directly, at least.

Yup, they are couple from Wuhan China. They went to Hongkong. After stayed in Hongkong ,then they went to Aklan Kalibu in Philippines. Admitted in San Lazaro hospital in Manila. The woman is out of danger now and recovering, but her boyfriend died yesterday,a 44 years old.

The Virus was mostly gone from the Patient who died in the philippines. However due to the weakened immune system of the patient he died from bacterial infection and complications. The patient’s wife is recovering well as we speak. Dont spread Misinformation

How about the test from Australia that took long and was negative. They had to conduct another local test to make sure and it showed positive. It is not about the strength of the Healthcare. Everyone was focused on him and how dare you question the ability of the local doctors? There are alot of cases that even a normal pneumonia kills people all around the world. They also came a little too late because the reason why they went to the hospital was he was already very sick and already have pneumonia.

Chancellor Asher I know that.. you need a full respirator or gas mask.. which I have.. (plus hazmat suit and more) You would have to wear the n99, n95 or n100 mask first then put one or two more masks on that have air filters. It can help but it’s to protect from spreading even if you have it with no symptoms which everyone should be doing regardless.. so I don’t know what you’re laughing about? Even if those masks don’t protect them.. what’s funny about them not having what they need to survive? People are dying and you’re laughing about their level of protection.. sad world we live in man.. smh
