I still barely understood hand positioning, and no understanding of throws at this point. The key is holding your oppenents head control placing your elbow into their chest and having a firm grip at the base of the skull. Once your arms are in the inside as opposed to your opponents, you can outside knee.
As you get better you can start doing inside knees, throws, and defending from their clinch as well. Here I'm barely doing a scramble with the few moves I knew within the muay thai ruleset.
