Wow, I had no idea this is what a Surgical Tech does! You really are hands on. No way could I do this. Just put me in a Lab and I can work with specimens, blood ,etc. Good for you!

hi! what did you know going into clinicals? did they expect a lot from you as a student? i’m so nervous for my clinicals i don’t wanna feel unprepared 😩

hii! before going into clinicals i knew the instruments, and how to scrub and pass. they are super friendly and will ask you to do what your comfortable with doing. so that could be help opening for the case and watching them setup! then you can observe or even scrub. you definitely won’t be first scrubbing the first couple weeks! as long as you know your instruments, how to scrub, pass, and open you will do great!!

Do you work full time at another job while in clinical’s for surgical tech?

It’s definitely manageable, I currently coach but it’s part time! A lot of students in my class work full time, you just have to organize your schedule around it. I go to clinicals every tuesday and thursday from 6:30am-2:30pm
