I made that hike with my sons and a friend several years ago. It was the first week of July and the mosquitos were thick. You couldn't take a breath without eating one. Fall was a wiser choice dispite the snow.

Wow! That much snow that early. Awesome. It wiped out all those fires from earlier in September... and still huckleberries. yeah I bet that was a berry-fat bear!!!

I hope we have a winter like last winter not 3 winters ago. Snow hiking and snow camping. Life is good
@HikeOregon7 жыл бұрын
+Robert Crain something in between the two would be nice. I’d like to start the Oregon pct in early to mid July which wasn’t possible last year. So less snow would be nice this year.

My friends from Klamath Falls are avid hikers! I will have to ask them if they hiked some of your spots. I can not believe all the great spots you have been to! Awesome videos you`ve made! BTW nice to see snow and the terrible fires are gone!

Yes, I've been hiking every week for over 3 years now. Lots of great spots to explore in Oregon :).

Looks like you gals had a great time :) It is all about getting out even if you don't hike it all. Just getting out is all that's important :)

+Hiking With Shawn exactly! Although I was disappointed that we didn’t make it to the lake, I sometimes have to remind myself it’s all about the adventure, not the destination.

+Boodieman72 soon. It actually all melted now. We’ve been having crazy warm rain and 60 - 70 degrees so it’s melting everything!!

Wet socks are the worst. Have you tried felt insoles or wool socks? I've tried many different set-ups with little positive results. Nice hike though but if i see bear tracks i start hiking in the opposite direction...lol...something you might want to keep in mind...peace
@HikeOregon7 жыл бұрын
+Mr Majestic bears in Oregon are extremely skittish! This bear probably heard us 5 women coming 2 miles away and ran for the hills. I do wear wool socks so my feet stay warm when wet which is good. When hiking in snow that deep without any gaiters it’s hard not to have wet feet.
