Yes Chet, the 'sound of a machine' is something you need to recognize, to help it stay in good shape. A good ear, prevents a lot of problems from even happening. and Dougo,,,, I've never thought twice about the paint on the fuel tanks; not one time, and then you go and mention it ! I will never UNSEE that again!

Pull the prop off that boat.. grease up the shaft..You be glad you did. Then change the lower unit grease(oil)... water can get in the case and crack case... or trash internals...

Dougo exactly right. My crane truck legs have up and down on the rams. But by my thinking they labeled wrong. Up and down doesn't work. Extend or retract would be a better option.

You have a lot of dock pieces to get in and out. You all did a great job from what I see. You got it done so that is what matters. Know Amy had a nice meal ready for you. Prime the paint by painting it w/ aluminum paint, then any paint will stick. Clean tank after any grease removed by washing 2 times w/ a strong vinegar solution, washing off, air dry, then ready to primer.

Yesterday (NOV 7) it was in the low 20"s and the wind was 40-50 MPH, any open water(tanks or ponds) froze hard enough to drive a pickup on. Today it was in the 20's with a LIGHT breeze (5-15 MPH). You could actually stand to go outside. Windchill was only about 0..... You gotta love the weather in Northwestern SD, the pendulum swings wildly!!! With as much as those combine grain tanks are overloaded with the Big Tops vs. the factory design I'm not so surprised you've had some issues. All the extra bushels/weight added to starting up system repeatedly. John Deere may have some issue but extensions can create some as well.

I think the word Dougo was looking for is “upon.” Winter is almost upon us. I wouldn’t worry about painting the fuel tanks. Fix em up and they’ll just find something else to bitch about. I’ve been following this channel for a couple years now and hate it when new folks join in without some proper introduction. So, Stone is his brother.
