Wrong, you would actually have to pay a lot more for RR Phantom VIII and you'd buy it to impress others. If you want to impress yourself, nothing beats Maybach.

If people can afford to buy a Maybach, i think they will consider buying higher end luxurious sedans car, like Bentley or RR. If i have to choose between a Maybach S or Mercedes S. I would go for Mercedes S class. It’s still feel the same. Just look the same. Nothing special from the interior and exterior.

One big problem with this car is, you can't drive it yourself. This is a car that meant to be driven by a driver you hired and you ride in the back. Try driving this yourself alone and go to hotels or gold clubs, no one will open a door for you. They'll open a rear door. They'll think you are here to pickup guests. If you want S-class that you can drive, get S63. Want to go higher, get coupe from Rolls-Royce and Bentley.

The back sit look even better than Bentley and rr, and I prefer this than Bentley and rr. But after I think twice, even this is a maybach s class, it’s still a s class, and I don’t think this car would have a better sitting experience than Toyota alphard or vellfire. Despite the price this car need, if the buyer need expensive look car for himself or company can go straight to the Bentley and RR

Why would anyone pay 1.4million for something that looks basically exactly like an S-classe? A Rolls or Bentley seems like money better spend, as in those kind of price ranges it's all about status symbolism anyways... I still remember the images of the 1997 maybach wich looked amazing back then tbh, and a completely different car than the S-classe from that generation. now if in that case they would charge way more for the maybach it would be understandable but not in this case.. They never build that model, instead they changed the looks of it a bit and made it pretty much the new S-classe in '99
