UPDATE: Unfortunately, this car is still leaking quite a bit and tightening the drain plug did nothing as I suspected lol. I’m off to purchase some due to hopefully better diagnose, but we currently have oil and/or trans fluid coming from both the front and back of the motor, as well as coolant. More content on this car soon…

Lesjofors lowring springs and poly bushings will take care of your handling quality. I took the opportunity to rebuild the steering rack and install poly bushings when I had the engine out. Amazing difference. Make sure the control arm brackets are properly installed lol I still have to remove and re-install mine but it is such a pain with the engine in.

In high school my dad bought a 9-5 which was the car that I learned to drive on. Years later reminiscing on the fun times and speed I had driving that 9-5, I came across your videos and my mind was made up. You inspired me to look into the Saab community and feel confident that I could find the parts needed to be happy purchasing a 9-3. Its great to see there’s people like you and others keeping Saab alive

All in all, $3k ain't bad for a FULL rebuild. And you would probably have to double that if you had a shop do it. Maybe even more. Keep the vids coming. Just a few pesky leaks to go! And like you said, they are bottom area motor leaks so they aren't throwing fluids all over the place.

Keep at it. You have a clean car so it makes it all worth it. Ive spent half of that on sorting leaks on my 900, and that only was doing it on the outside lol(still got 2 or 3 leaks too).

Hello, the question is off topic, but do you know that the “radio code” error can be reset to other budget diagnostic equipment, besides tech 2???

It ALWAYS costs more no matter what the job! You'll get those leaks sorted. I'm sure. Both of my 900's leaked a little bit of oil as they aged though.

I understand you live in a hot climate and want to drive the car daily without issue, but I always prefer to delete the AC system entirely and put a pollen filter in. Especially with the Sunroof cars, you'd be fine except for when you get into stop and go traffic in major cities. But I also really hate air conditioning - yeah, if I were doing AC, I'd also want all brand new components so it didn't have any funky old car AC smell.
@AutoAutopsy
@AutoAutopsy 6 ай бұрын
You need AC here for about 8-9 months of the year so there’s no way I’m deleting that! It would be unbearable 👍🏼😅 I wish it wasn’t so hot but it’s not really much of an option
