First drive in the SLC

Taking my freshly built and licensed Superlite Coupe (SLC) for a drive. Sorry for the excessive cockpit noise in the video -- no side windows yet and several big gaps in insulation between the cockpit and engine compartment.

The creaking you hear throughout the video, is that just from lack of sound deadening at the moment? Car looks real smooth and not too loud at all.

I think its coming from the interior panels rubbing against the chassis. I need to trim them a bit and add some padding. My door seals also have several big gaps which I will have to address when I have it painted.

What kind of gearing is it? Is it me or are you in your 2nd gear for a long time....looks fun!

It's geared very low -- the transaxle is the same one used in previous-gen Audi R8 and Lamborghini Gallardo (Graziano 6-speed manual) so it's geared for high-revving engines. The first part of the video down side streets I was in 1st and 2nd. Then after I got on the divided road, I got in to 5th. I didn't get to 6th until the very end of the video on the highway. The engine is a solid-cam short-stroke LS7 so it doesn't really like low rpms :)
