@markb5066
@markb5066 5 ай бұрын
I almost always drive with the windows off and there's not much wind inside the cabin. The hot air from the radiator flows mostly over the car so you don't get any heat inside, but some does come from behind you since the motor is back there. I use the AC whenever it gets over 80 degrees or so. I've only driven it in very light rain so far no no problems yet :)

How much real down force @150 mph, 180 mph, 200mph. Or somehow you tested it at any mph? 187mph at a mile with 2400lbs and 570 whp destroked LS7 is real slow. I think of downforce caused it. Stock c7 z06 on stage 1 wing went 180-185 mph at mile. 1200lbs heavier.

Sorry no downforce testing. It was squatting quite a bit at speed but I have no way of measuring it. I agree the car should be capable of more (aero, alignment, etc). I even noticed when I got home that my #7 spark plug was melted so that certainly didn't help.

I hope business works out and i can build mine. K48 v8 graziano or better transaxle set up for paddleshift sequential operation for speed of shifting. Few other weight reduction bits. Tracition control. Biggest tires and brakes i can fit. Lightest rims. Probably some aftermarket carbon rims for corvettes. But also a full tilt nice interior and lots of heat shielding and sound deadening. Boost set up few tricks along with a few motor build tricks for a track mode and atreet mode. But gonna have it dialed. K48 should work for the Graziano well but still gonna regear it for theoretical top speed above the ford gt. And set up for the rpm range.

Holdup--so Im looking to start building the motor for this car by next year. Gotta save and all that. I plan to go to about 700-800 HP. But you're telling me (the internet I guess) that with 572 HP at the wheels and a shitty reaction time you still put down an 11.22??? You didnt have any traction control or take-off assist...so Im thinking that I could get well into the 10 second bracket at some point?
@markb5066
@markb5066 Жыл бұрын
Well remember reaction time has nothing to do with ET since the clock doesn't start until AFTER my shitty reaction time. But yea, even with 10-year-old hard tires since 60% of the weight is on the rear wheels and the car only weighs about 2650 with fuel/fluids (+200lbs for my fat butt). It was also pretty hot (90+) that day. I think with the HP you're shooting for, better launch skills and fresh tires, low/mid 10s would certainly be realistic.

@youknoweverything7643
@youknoweverything7643 10 ай бұрын
He is talking about that high pitch whining and it's the gearbox he is probably using all straight cut gears like we use in circle track asphalt latemodels and stuff that's where you get that nice high pitch beautiful whine from and he is also turning 81000 rpms. I'm my asphalt circle track open wheel modified at certain half mile ovals if there is a wall all the way around inside and outside of the track it will make my ears feel like they are gonna burst and are bleeding from the high pitch of the motor being turned to 9200 rpms and the transmission gearbox whining. I run a 896 rear wheel horsepower 400sbc in my asphalt modified it's a old NASCAR cup series engine that I got off a old NASCAR truck series driver that use to own the race track I race at locally and I had it rebuilt and the engine guy built to where it can safely turn 9200 for 100 laps plus no problems all season long with out worrying about blowing up and hear it is same motor has 120 races on it and still running up front. But what y'all do is very crazy motor wise
@bmxriderforlife1234
@bmxriderforlife1234 10 ай бұрын
@@youknoweverything7643my ls in my gto is very similar to your truck motor. Was set up to go 10k now does 9500. Things a frigging ridiculous monster way less hp now but alot more endurance to it. It got me more into high revving builds which is influenced my dream slc build. K48 Honda based v8. Flatplane crank. Should have the power and torque of a domestic style v8 and still Rev out like a European super car. Play with the gearing and tuning and it should have the reliability to match the gm based builds with a high revving nature and speeds to match the best. And a better trans reliability since its in a much lighter platform. And I'm gonna do the sequential mod and paddleshift with electronic assistance. In vein of the old repurposed f1 style single clutch paddleshifts but more reliability. Mated up gearing wise to an engine that fits the transmission well with further tuning to pair them. And no adapter plates. And get some extra room in the engine bay. If I can manage to get it tuned na the way I want. Boost system. Series twin charging super and turbo. With a way to bypass the super and fully open bo valve street mode. Full boost track mode. Repurposed 911 exhaust electronic controlled choke valve. And a dump valve. So it can fully bypass and open for a straight pipe track mode or quieter track mode. Keep it low as possible in weight. But also have that high hp mode for God tier levels of power to weight but a reasonable driving mode as well. Reliability like a ls but performance like the best. Along with the best traction control and tires and brakes possible.

Hi Mark, rewatching this video again. I see you also placed the cats in the same place as I am going to and Johan did. Those stock LS7 cats look a little larger than the ones I have, my guess is 4.5 or 5” in diameter. Do you feel the heat shield around the body of the cat is absolutely necessary? I was planning on at least a flat panel on the inside to protect the shifter cable and on the other side like you have to protect the shock from excessive heat. Anything else you would do differently?
@markb5066
@markb5066 Жыл бұрын
Hi Joel, yea they're slightly over 5" in diameter without the shielding. Cats get upwards of 1000 degrees F and it gets worse with track days. Since they're still in close proximity to engine wiring, shift cables, parking brake cables, oil lines, even the nylon locknuts on the suspension, I wanted to have an extra layer to be safe.
