The reason why that car collision doesn't do damage in the OHKO mod is probably because it works by %health damage in the unmodded game. But because the mod reduces your max HP to 1, and the game probably rounds down, any %health damage that rounds down will ultimately be zero.

The no damage GTAV run is kind of bittersweet. I used to watch DarkViperAU's attempts, but around the start of the year he started being really rude to his chat. UnNamed's run was posted in his discord and he just started banning people acting like it never existed. His reaction to being beaten was extremely toxic and childish. In his response video to his toxicity he sums it all up by basically saying "I was toxic. After being toxic I thought people would leave me alone and let me remain toxic. People called me out for being rude so I increased the toxicity."

I don't really know if you knew this - but having someone take a very large achievement from right under your nose, after you've spent an insane amount of time, effort and resources can be absolutely heartbreaking. The reason UnNamed posted his run in DViper's Discord could definitely feel like a taunt after spending all that time. Sure, congratulations to UnNamed for completing the challenge, but after you've made someone lose what they've been working months and months on finishing, you really gotta give the guy some space instead of taking to Reddit to send more hatred his way. Of course, you can paint things any way you want in your mind, but at least take other possibilities into consideration - and maybe think about how you'd react if you'd put everything on hold just for one thing which ends up being taken away from you right at the finish line.
@usokkithetree87383 жыл бұрын
@@iplaygamessortofquickly9232 My understanding was UnNamed was being very civil in DarkViper's discord and seeing as everything is deleted it leaves no evidence otherwise. I'm also not trying to trash on DarkViper too hard, I said the no hit run was bittersweet. It's cool to see it finished, but it is absolutely a bummer to see the runner who's been trying for it for so long not be the one to achieve it. His attitude and behavior afterward was not very sportsmanlike, to which he was further toxic about when called out on it. You're also very rude. I'm not painting anything in my mind, I'm stating observations I have made off events that have occurred.

I understand the need to stay neutral in situations like this, but you misconstrued the OHKO situation quite a bit by omitting DarkviperAU's role in it almost entirely. Unnamed's run was only scrutinised as heavily as it was because Matt completely flipped his shit at it, said it was fake, called Unnamed scum, and pretty much set his fanbase on him. You also didn't mention that Unnamed actually did the run on stream shortly after the first one, showing that it was legitimate. As far as I'm aware, Matt still hasn't taken back his hateful comments or even acknowledged Unnamed's accomplishment being legitimate, resulting in Unnamed still being targeted by angry DVAU stans.

@EZScape3 жыл бұрын
I don’t believe DV ever claimed the run was faked? Even English Ben’s video stated as much. But yes I really only care about the achievement and setting the record straight that Unnamed didn’t cheat. I really don’t care about beef 2 men have over a video game, but everyone else is entitled to their own opinion. It doesn’t have a place in my speedrun news video. I should have mentioned that Unnamed did the run again live, but it didn’t seem important either since the original run was real anyways and this video is about the achievement of being the first to do it. I should have mentioned it as a fun fact tho I suppose.
@conalfisher7653 жыл бұрын
@@EZScape I do understand not wanting to perpetuate a drama that's more or less subsided now. You're correct in DarkviperAU never explicitly saying the run was fake, my mistake; he attacked Unnamed mainly for hoarding strats (later disproven, he'd shared the strats in Matt's Discord), and banned him from his Discord, among other things. Obviously this is all just petty speedrun drama and dredging it up wouldn't be relevant to the actual record, as you said, but I think it helps to show why there was so much scrutiny towards the run, and is the primary reason why Unnamed's video got mass disliked and he was dragged in his comments; the actual run was secondary to it all. You did bring up the mods' analysis saying that Unnamed's run was legit, so not mentioning the livestream run isn't a big deal, I think it just goes to show that there really isn't any doubt about the first run, and it's not just a good fake. A lot of people still claim the run is suspicious, even after the mod analysis, and I think the second run mostly shut that down.
@a-14553 жыл бұрын
@@conalfisher765 if all that you say is petty drama then what the fuck are you asking for? Why not just not bring it up in the first place? Also if you had payed attention unnamed only *said* that he shared the strats, i never saw proof that he actually did. He also deserved to get scrutinized since he posted the first run in 3 parts obviously it'll look suspicious af. In his three separate videos he was also being an asshole and it shows he only uploaded that out of spite and proceeded to leech of of the drama to drag viper even lower. He's not innocent by any means. Also, the only ones who are still seething over this are you people who accuse him at every chance you get being delusional that you're doing something right.
@conalfisher7653 жыл бұрын
@@a-1455 The details aren't important for this kind of video, but recognising that the situation happened at all is a very large part of the story. Unnamed did share the strats in Discord, there are screenshots where he's basically just ignored entirely. I have no idea where you're getting him uploading them out of spite from, it's not like he'd have just kept them private out of respect, he had every right to post those. I don't get how he's "not innocent by any means" when he didn't do anything except post his run and then did it on stream. He never sent anyone hate, you can still find his comments on youtube and the various Reddit threads where he's being nothing but respectful. The thing about the Portal 2 run is that it's not a low% run like it's initial intention. Using a few portals to save it from being a bore makes sense but they literally nullified their objective. Low% respects lack of completion progress before time needed to forego said progress. Between that and padding the time, there's a lot of mismanagement. Speedrunning games is often a serious enough task that one should put forth their best effort, not choose to impede progress (or, well, lack thereof) and pervert 😉 their goal to make a video more watchable. I realize that I probably sound like a raging dork but it's the truth. Consider how much more epic it would've been if they'd have pulled off all of the tricks, given a story to each as context, had an editor stylishly fast-forward the monotonous parts, linked full version(s), and actually broke the low% speedrun record. But, with all due respect, I'm sure their accomplishments throughout the run were amazing. I just hate when others bring impurities into the realm of speedrunning, conveniently choosing suboptimal strategies not withholding. Who's pitching their forks with me?! These babies haven't been yeeted in a while.

@DarkViperAU3 жыл бұрын
When these threads it is so hard not to read them. No, I did not send harassment unnamed’s way (if you mean intentionally or directly). In fact, one of the things I specifically referenced when talking to my mods prior to speaking publicly was acknowledging there was no way to speak publicly without at least some of that occurring. I therefore tried my best not to say anything, and to just allow the news to propagate naturally. This turned out to be very hard, because unnamed discussed the events in my private discord, on multiple subreddits, and hundreds of people on reddit seemed very keen to shit talk everything I have ever done. I had some bourbon, due to being very sad, and wrote one comment specifically to unnamed on reddit because what he said implied a direct question to me. This was then added to the already existent livestreamfails hate-thread, and it ultimately just made matters worse (obviously). You can’t seriously believe I said only I should do the challenge. There were many other runners other than unnamed, people I actually knew and did speak to on an irregular basis. I try very hard to accept that it is impossible to stop the never-ending bombardment of negative and or false comments whenever I am mentioned, but it is a monumental task. You spend your entire life able to defend yourself whenever someone calls you an asshole, and suddenly you wake up one day reaching so many people that even if a tiny fraction thinks you an asshole you couldn’t defend yourself against all the claims if you had a thousand lifetimes. When I finally made a video response to the assholes in reddit, it baffled me (and still does now) how much people didn’t seem to understand the purpose of the video or what was said in it. It was originally far longer, but the basic premise was that my actions were perfectly in-line with what others would have done in my shoes. Those who disagree either believe I did things I did not do or are unaware about what ‘shoes’ I was wearing at the time. I feel this assessment affirmed whenever I read negative comments about me that claim things I know to be false that fit into either category.

It's because the run was finished in 1 hour 10 minutes and 9 seconds which can be converted to 69 minutes and 69 seconds, this obviously makes no sense but it's funny
