I've been watching people react to this piece of art for over a year now and have never commented. Your comments and perspective on this were spot on. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do this. You are a great reactor! I would recommend Sick Boi as your next reaction as it tells Ren's story a bit more. Wisconsin here, I met Ren a year and half ago with "Hi Ren" and I have never looked back. I am a 55 yr old grandmother who in now a "fan girl" of Ren. I love his music and he has so much. His variety is as amazing as this video. He is this generations new "Prince" he is the most multi-talented musician I have seen in a long time. He sings like an Angel all genres, raps, story teller, plays multiple instruments like a master (guitar, bass, piano etc), composes, makes most of his own beats, produces, directs, actor and he does all this with his talented friends because he works as an independent artist. Sorry so many I would choose next "sick boi", then " the tales of Jenny and Screech" "back on 74/message in a bottle" remake is him channeling his Sting voice. He has so much more he has over 150 plus videos along with his band (The Big Push) they are top in my book in all genres. Would love to be with you while riding this awesome roller coaster. New sub.

As a PTSD survivor, Ren's music is like a musical therapy session. He just released an instrumental piece of music in tribute to his friend Callum who drowned this year. It is called MacKay. He also lost a childhood friend to suicide in 2010. Welcome to the Ren Rabbit hole. He is currently in Canada getting treatments for the complications from his 10 years of misdiagnosis of PTSD, ME/CFS, psychosis brought on by undiagnosed Lyme disease. I also have ME/CFS. Ren is from Wales originally.

❤❤ I have been listening to Ren for over 5 years now, way before he was known like he is now. I have seen over 200 reactions to this song over 1,000 reactions to his music and every single one is different its interpreted different, different things stick out to different people, people associate things in his music in a way that relates to their life story. That's why music is the only universal language. It speaks to ppl in diff ways in diff walks of life so F the people in this world who spend their time belittling others because those who lift others up will always be larger than those who don't. I think your reaction is just perfect. It's perfect because it's your internalization of the music through only your lens. Ren is amazing at intentionally making music that can be interpreted and related to by whoever listens to it. He never has a song that has a right or wrong meaning. I have seen 100's of Hi Ren reactions and still get new insight everytime, which speaks to your reaction and of course, Ren's talent. Whoever told you to stop doing this, 🤬 them! I believe you used the words " relax or soften" in your comments during the video, referring to how people should deal with these demons. Saw this video over a year ago. It too, was my introduction to Ren. I haven’t looked back. This video was basically a life changer for me. I’ve watched hundred(s) of reactions to it. I’m a bit obsessed with his music and I have no qualms about it. I’m a fanboy for the first time in my life, and I’m almost 50 years old. Ren is a special human being. I’d recommend Sick Boi next. It’s sort of a continuation of Hi Ren, but done in a completely different genre of music. You’re going to love what you hear from him. He’s incredible.

Hello friend! New subscriber here. I’m going to post some information and songs to check out. I’m also a fellow recovering addict who also struggles with mental health and chronic illnesses. The only two things I would say with Ren is don’t bother with subtitles, they’re always wrong, and also can I suggest getting earphones especially with his more produced work as I really pays attention to the small details. I look forward to more Ren! 🖤 🔥🔥🔥 .Welcome to the Renaissance! Ren is my favourite artist of all time. I say artist because he is a multifaceted diamond! From singing (all styles) to rapping (bars/flows/schemes for days), Bardcore (story telling) beatbox, makes his own beats, scatting and a multi instrumentalist (guitars, bass, drums, melodica and more). On top of that he is the most beautiful human being inside and out who has been through and continues to go through absolute hell. Ren is 33 from Anglesey, Wales originally but spent most his adult life in Brighton, England. He has been very ill for years, at one point being completely bed ridden. He was misdiagnosed for years, being told he was bipolar, had M.E and more and was prescribed medications that made him worse and ended up in psychosis. It turns out Ren had Lyme disease which has caused havoc on his body. He’s been living in Calgary, Canada all year receiving intense medical treatment for his brain damage and mast cell activation disorder amongst other things that were caused by the Lyme disease. He started off making beats at 12 and selling CDs then moved on to busking. He was part of a band called Trick The Fox and was signed to Sony but they didn’t renew the contract after his health deteriorated. He then started The Big Push. They went on hiatus the end of last year after 5 years partly due to his move to Canada and also because the other members are also soloists and were moving around too. I have a list of songs to check out of all styles. It's also one of the greatest things I've ever heard! I have been listening to it almost daily, sometimes several times a day for over a year. Ren is my favorite artist... not musician, ARTIST. He is so much more than just music. But he also IS music. He has no genera. He can do it all. Welcome to the world of Ren. His catalog is very deep, and I am yet to find a "bad" song. YES. Ren is able to reach out and touch souls. Not just with his mega-artistic { this is just a 'taste'!} multi-genre talent, but because he's unafraid to be open honest and vulnerable. Many struggle with some form of internal negative voice -of varying types and degrees. Here Ren portrays the terrifying and sometimes life-threatening battle of being inside a psychotic episode. [ His was caused by untreated advanced Lyme Disease - which became chronic and systemic - affecting his whole body, including his brain. He was misdiagnosed and treated with anti-psychotics and a bunch of other psych medications for years before he finally had the right diagnosis and treatment. Now his body is free of the disease he is having long-term specialist treatments to address all the residual chronic damage, impacting his joints, immune system & chronic pain etc. etc. ] He talks about being tempted to give up several times, but then deciding to battle through and find a way back to having a life and a career. This hits home for so many people - experiencing their own battles, either currently or in the past, or witnessing a loved one's battle... It's not a 'song' so much as a performance piece, narrative theatre. You will see that he is a Master of many forms of music and story-telling. Ren is not 'just' an artist. He is also a powerful social commentator - who insists we all stop and look at the 'hard stuff'. The stuff we prefer to look / click away from. [ As he does even more powerfully - CONFRONTINGLY - in his Masterful & Ground-Breaking Trilogy: "The Tale of Jenny & Screech, & Violet's Tale." BUT it's not all 'heavy weather'. Ren does lot's of fun stuff too. Have a look at "Losing it" and some of his Busking { Street Performances ) with his previous Band: The Big Push. Renegades represent! Loved the reaction. This song probably saved my life. I’m sure it saved others as well. Going forward on this journey, you’ll see so many sides to Ren. If and when you get to songs like “masochist” or “wicked ways” just remember that he is human…but he refuses to be put in a box. If he fells angry, he’ll write an angry song. If he feels like having fun, he’ll right something that’s just a blast. If he feels deep….just be prepared. Above all else, I swear he’s the most authentic artist I’ve ever come across.

I've seen dozens of reactions to this song, this was one of the best. You're going to get a lot of recommendations on what Ren songs to do. It almost doesn't matter, each is btilliant and different. Maybe after a few more I would suggest his one million subscribers video. Anyway, loved this video, can't wait for more!

Renegade here and a new sub. You did a great job with this. I too like the calm demeanor snd thoughtful reaction. This is the first song i heard more than a year ago and have since heard everything he ever wrote that i could find. He lost a record deal in the midst of his first album at 19. But even before this he had issues with addiction and voices in his head, even as a young child. He just turned 34 on the 29th of March and has been dealing with this all these years. He's signed to a small independent label, so he does what he wants. Just when you think you got him pegged ...just put out his first piano instumental in tribute to "Mackay" a friend who died at 22. The Tales of Jenny and Screech (full) 13 minute version will put the 3 tales in order in one video. Do them all at once and turn off the subtitles. Welcome to the finest, most supportive community on tbe internet. Dare say you'll get a few fans here❤🎉 Also totally cool to do Sick Boi first! It will continue Hi Ren in a way. Btw: Ren has gone through 2 stem cell transplants in 2016-17, which daved his life. But Lyme triggered MCAS. ehich us a serious, incurable allergic reaction to most foods. He looks extremely fir and healthy, but the damage is internal.

That was live - and in ONE take (though he did 4 or 5 attempts) to get one he liked. It is also about his life story and the effected of wrongly being diagnosed with mental health issues (and treated for such for 7 years) before finally being correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease - by which time the damage had been done. He was born in Wales but lives in Brighton, UK. and in currently receiving treatment in Canada to try and repair as much of the damage as possible.
