I am so so sorry to hear about your nephew. Unfortunately, I have lost my fiance recently. On March 1st I came home to find out that her struggle to hang on from her issues that she believed was created by the 42 different prescription drugs that she was prescribed since Christmas time, when she begged me to bring her to the emergency room period since then she constantly gone downhill where eventually she ended up being in Hospice Care at home with me period we never gave up hope, and even though she has moved on, I'm still going up to the Adirondacks where are we had planned to get married during the upcoming solar eclipse. I owe her that much for sure because she was such a huge part of me, and still is.

Bibi - Crutch' A song for which there are far too few reactions. It's so heartbreaking, beautiful and deep. Absolutely underrated in my opinion. And has a great no-budget video as well. 'Crutch' comes from his darkest days, when he really thought he would'n live much longer. Bibi was his girlfriend at that time and started a GoFundMe to raise donations for his treatment/diagnosis. If I understood correctly, it was the basis for the diagnosis of his Lyme disease. 'Crutch' is about his fear of being left alone with and because of all his problems. And it's for everyone who supports their partners, friends or whatever in times of crisis.

I'm so sorry about your nephew. My father was hospitalized "for a couple of days as a precaution" when he got CV; they gave him Remdesivir, and it shut down his kidneys and ultimately killed him. Needless to say, I avoid doctors like the plague. A tune of Ren's you'd enjoy is Crucify your Culture, along with the Money Game series. A reminder (especially for Money Game 1, which has some really fast rap), Ren often pins the lyrics of his songs in the comment section.

I take many medications due to mental health, which despite many years of therapy and self help I could not live without. Do they have side effects, yes but the alternative for me isn’t an option, the side effects are the lesser of two evils.

And that’s perfectly fine if it helps then more power to it I just don’t like when doctors misdiagnose and give people medication that they don’t need and have a hard problem getting off them but if they work for you I completely understand

Drs just don’t take the time these days, I know medication doesn’t work for everyone it’s just what works for me. Yes and please don't discount talk therapy. Not all therapy is the same and you really have to find the right fit, but don't assume you know what they're going to do and let that be an excuse to avoid it ❤ Also "natural " things can be dangerous and addictive or just plain deadly. During the great depression anxiety spiked to pandemic levels as Americans across the country were losing everything they had, the cure for that mental illness came in the form of WW2, as our country was pulled into the war and parents gathered to pray for the youth of America being sent overseas to fight, they took their eyes off their own problems as a collective nation prayed for the safety of their soldiers, anxiety cases disappeared virtually overnight. Find a cause or someone to pray for.

The song/video are not so much a condemnation of the modern medical system, but the system of capitalism that leads to situations where doctors are not allowed the time they need to actually treat their patients and so end up checked out as they go through the motions demanded of them by the people higher up the chain. Even when not commoditized, medicine is still constrained by the concept of profit and loss and nothing will change until we realize that we need to do better. Ren doesn't have an issue with modern medicine. He doesn't have an issue with medication. His daily medication helps him be able to live his life and have the energy to create. His problem is with Capitalism and how it corrupts and consumes everything it touches.

Money Game (live official video) Money Game Part 2 - lyric video, with live video being a bonus second part that can be done same reaction if needed. But this is a small part of the full track which needs to be experienced first. Money Game Part 3. This live video is the culmination of Ren and Sam collaborating for years. Sam's first music videography was for Ren. And this video is the first time the budget has exceeded £1000 and damn do they use every penny. I'm almost certain the budget included the lead up event launching Money Game Part 3. This was an ARG lasting 15 days, involving international collaboration to prepare, flights between Canada and UK, an entire video series for the game alone, other content, print media, the website build to create and successfully host 1000s of us participating and all jumping on at that same time to enter code (with many of us learning ways to break websites while playing) The Game then included the daily £1000 ARG Money Game (£14000 alone), and somehow managing to keep enough mods to keep players okay, and also to actively misdirect, motivate, entertain and distract us in multiple platforms, all while altering website upcoming Game difficulty based on previous day's game play (unless a chance lucky some) realising we were collaborating way too well. No idea how the fuck they made it work too well. So well we would choose to help each other way to too well. Despite all barriers.

The frame you paused on shows a hand with BBC and blood on it, as in the media also being complicit on peddling drugs, regarding anxiety it was at pandemic levels when the great depression hit and so much worrying began, many lost everything they had, the cure for anxiety arrived in the form of WW2 as America was sending its young into war and parents across the nation began praying for their youth and forgot about their own problems, anxiety across the nation simply vanished. I had diagnosed mental illnesses before I knew I had a systemic condition. I was told my physical symptoms were all anxiety or depression even when mentally I was the most stable I had ever been. That being said, I did need medication for a time, I wouldn’t be around otherwise. People sometimes need medications, there’s not always a way around it but to have a for profit medical system doesn’t benefit the patient. As with many things, it’s about balance and self awareness about what will work for us individually.

So sorry about your nephew. It really is a wake up call on how little Doctors really know. At least that is my take on Cancer. My dad did everything right got tested over and over and surprise his #'s suddenly spiked and he was then diagnosed w/Stage 4 Prostrate Cancer... there was nothing that worked for him. He passed w/in a yr from that. It is very discouraging as he did everything right but still there was no hope for him so sad......

Great reaction, Ren was signed with Sony but when he got sick and couldn't function and became bed bound when he got over stressed after a while they dropped him.

Ren himself has said that it wasn't that cold on Sony's part. He was so ill that he couldn't make music for them. They weren't pressuring him. He couldn't fulfill his part of the contract & after awhile the contract simply expired.

Hey, not all drugs are bad, m'kay? Not all are addictive, & a lot come from nature, (plants, snake venom, mold, etc.) just like weed or shroomies. For PTSD EDMR treatment is effective. If you're going through it, wouldn't hurt to give it a try.

Excellent commentary. You sound like you’ve really informed yourself. I have also found natural remedies can help so much. Been taking magnesium in the evening to help with anxiety too. Taking turmeric and ginger in various ways has helped treat inflammation and chronic nerve pain better than I ever thought it would! more than the prescribed pills I threw in the trash… Ren’s music and community help with the rest. 💔❤️‍🩹❤️

Army vet here: same thing with me. I had a check up at VA and I finally decided mentioned mental health. Doc threw Zoloft at me and sent me on my way. I haven't taken them. I won't. That's their answer to everything, though.
