I've lived in Tulsa since 1984, and I didn't learn about the Race Massacre until about 25 years ago. It was a shameful event that Tulsa kept hidden for decades. The Race Massacre was worse than you think. Some people were executed in their homes. Those who lived and didn't leave town were rounded up and held against their will in various places "for their safety". 35 city blocks were destroyed...all in Greenwood. It was beyond horrific...

On record 10mwhites were killed that day! 26 on first record was 26 African Americans.. Final record was about 30 to 300 African Americans killed by by the whites!! My moms great 3times(?), its been some years for me remembering this, grandfather was about 10 when it happened! And lived till he was I think 109! If im correct.
