Hey man love the channel, exactly what owning a diesel truck is about. Love that you do all of your own work! So I guess my question for you is what would be a good turbo set up for a daily driven truck that tows about 18,000 pounds occasionally. Just picked up a 17 sport 4th gen and want to do a 2nd gen swap on it when I delete it and do head studs, but I can't decide on a turbo that would give me room to grow power wise and that would spool well for towing! Keep up the awesome content man!

aye greg i believe if your throttle is too touchy for your comfort you can change the weight of the spring on your linkage. my 2nd gen 12 valve dropped the linkage spring and i went to autozone and got a variety pack of throttle springs and one of them was just right for me.

Levi Marquez they dont make anything of that sort for first gens. Even second gens they only have a cable that let's you adjust the fuel plate from inside the cab.

FirstGenCummins both trucks have after market injectors so at this point it doesn't matter

Hey Greg, I have a 93 12v, I’m looking to upgrade my intercooler, now I looked all over in line but can only find ones for 94 and up. Are they the same (as in will they bolt up right) or is there I can find one specifically for my truck. Thanks Mike

As far as I know they do not bolt directly on. They are larger in every dimension. If you want a couple of good upgrades get an inter cooler a hx35 turbo, fuel pin, turn up the smoke screw 1 turn, get a 3600rpm gov spring, if you want to get a little more involved get some marine injectors and 60lb valve springs. I have an hx35 that needs a rebuild I got from a co worker. He used it for a while in his 12v. Made a lot more power than stock in his fummins build.

They do not bolt right in. They are wider and the pipes are larger. Mounts dont line up either

Michael Becker not exactly you need to make new upper mounts, drill or cut new holes for the pipes, make new bottom mounts, trim the grill and space out the overflow bottle its mostly all test fit and fabricate. Not a super hard job but takes time. Easier with a friend

Just wondering, if you're doin a p pump conversion, why bother messin with the VE pump anymore at this point. Also, plan on the FSS takin a shit after the gov spring upgrade. Pretty typical from what I've seen and experienced.

Spitwadz when we turn up the fuel the idle raises. Because we can back the idle down much more we have to index the shafts to allow it to turn farther back and lower the idle. Then we add more fuel and it raises the idle back up

Spitwadz it was about half way turned up but when we changed to the 3800 spring I turned it all the way out to be safe and retuned it from 0 fuel. That's why it wouldn't start the first like 5 times
