Hey Greg I've owned these first gens for years and that brake fluid reservoir isn't going to stop leaking even with a new gasket. I just put a little bit of silicone on the gasket and it usually does the trick to get it to stop.

DialUpInternet thats what i had to do to my buddys truck. We got three gaskets before we figured to just to get some blue rtv.

Those iron master cylinders are a known problem, they ALL leak from the lid, in fact it'll empty itself so keep an eye on it. That said, swap in a gm hydroboost and plastic resivior master from a late 80's ish K30...works awesome!
@keatonsamples93307 жыл бұрын
a s467 or a s463 to help with spool up would be a sweet setup. You could also play around with some s300 stuff on it. From what Ive heard s369s aren't all that great unless the exhaust housing is a big one. They tend to choke on the exhaust side before the compressor gets into its efficiency causing surge issues. Similar to what is probably happening on the existing turbo you have.
@kensexton49437 жыл бұрын
Greg, we put a booster and master from a 99 ram2500 on a first gen. Rear axle is from an 07 with disc. Get rid of the valve in the back! The brakes are absolutely perfect now!

@lukejacob33407 жыл бұрын
Greg A just jack the cab up a like 3 inches in the front and tilt it a little then you have all the room in the world to stuff that engine in the 05 you can put it all together and the set the cab back down

You should put a s369sxe or a s467.7 also yeah take that block out towards the back of the frame that’s for drum brakes when you are loaded vs unloaded for amount of brake force to rear brakes so you can delete that now since you have disk brakes also I just mailed you something for the first gen you should get it on Friday hope to see it in an upload 😁

That "block" diaphragm proportioning valve thing at the back on my first gen is for ABS. It made the master cylinder leak, and my mechanic deleted it and now the brakes work great! So remove it and tee the brake lines together at the back.

Greg you need a different master cylinder for the first gen, you have a disc/drum and need disc/disc master cylinder
@SeanNyhc7 жыл бұрын
Yea i have the same setup disc/disc with the orginal master cylinder and if you get on the brakes hard the rear end locks up. I think i read somewhere that theres a proportion valve thatll fix that instead of a new MC

With a VE pump, it's pointless to go any bigger than a 62/68/.70 T3. If planning ahead for the P-Pump, then an S400, or compounds.

@jasontruman12157 жыл бұрын
My opinion is a small s400 that is matched to the p pump. A 369 is not as strong. If you are using the turbo just for the ve pump then go s362 or 4 sxe That range of size is a great match to a ve.

If you switched from drums to discs in the rear and didn't swap to the correct master cylinder/proportioning valve then that's your problem. Discs and drums require different amounts of pressure.

@bryanb79187 жыл бұрын
roymartinez25 it honestly wouldnt even fuel a 69 all the way, he'd be better off with a 66. That ve pump needs some more work if he wants to get it to fuel harder.
@roymartinez257 жыл бұрын
Drift Physics yeah i get what ur saying, was just thinking about the 369 cuz it could work good when he swaps pumps, but 366 would be sick and spool up better.
@bryanb79187 жыл бұрын
I didn't think he was still planning on swapping to the p pump. But if he does p pump it he would be happier with the 469. And hopefully it would hold up better. Me personally, i would stay with the ve pump, my truck pulls like a freight train, and even on a wh1c I was able to shit on my friends 03 with a smarty lol. I have an s362 comming here pretty soon that should really wake my truck up.

Stephen Cain I don't know, it definitely has a 6.7 top cover on it, you can see where the ccv filter canister mounts on top. Not sure if the rocker cover and top covers between common rail 5.9 and 6.7 are interchangeable. I don't know why it wouldn't just be a 6.7 head
@stephencain34677 жыл бұрын
common rail 5.9 and 6.7 have pretty much the same covers from what ive seen and thier was a reason why it ended up like that but i cant remember
