I'm a new sub from Detroit. Love these vids man. I used to play roller hockey when I was a little kid and I loved it. I'm 36 now but this is making me want to play lol. What's the age limit for these leagues?

I grew up playing roller hockey too. Ice hockey was too hot for my liking with all the extra pads. I stopped when I turned 19 and got my first GF. Went back at age 34 and realized how trash I was 😂. Feet hurt, knees hurt and back was killing me the first 5 games. Kept playing till Now and my kids play in the peewee league and we practice together at home 5yrs later. You should go back to the adult league. It’s more an excuse for dudes to get together and drink beer tho 😂. Equipment is WAY more expensive tho, especially the sticks. I recommend conditioning your feet to skates again tho before you try.

@@silverking8742 haha yeah. My team mates never stopped playing from age 10-30+. Few of them are 20ish as well. Took me a few seasons to get on their level. Good thing about the adult leagues, it’s really more about having fun and drinking after the game. Not competitive at all. Yes, we want to win but no butthurt if we lose unlike the kids that get upset. Most of all, why I recommend going back, it makes you young again. I never realized how out of shape I was till I played again. Get the body moving in all the ways you dont do in day to day life. I feel younger now than i did before I played.

No age limit. There are certain leagues that are like 30 and above, 40+ and so on. Also, there are leagues for beginners if you go that route! I hope I can get your ass out there with these vids!

I’m 22 and I’ve only ever been to a few stick and puck open sessions at local rinks. I’m comfortable on skates but don’t know how to handle a puck well. Are there beginner leagues? Other than my wrist shot, I’m honestly dust and I don’t want to get completely lost in the mix with high level players eating me alive. Would love to find a league with people on the same page

Look at the local rinks around you. Every league has different levels of hockey. My league has 5-6. From ex pro level to learn to skate league. Just look around you!

I love the way to control your posts when the puck is down low, but you seem to overplay the lateral moves, and get out of position easily. It's something Ilya Samsonov was doing when he was having trouble (and it's something I do sometimes). If I can offer a word of advice, try to control the lateral moves, so you're not going quite so far across. You might do this by staying more upright, so you have skates on the ice instead of leather. As I say, it's something I'm working on myself, I'm kind of a smaller goalie too... so staying upright is always good, I think. (I say this hoping you won't take offense at a word or two of advice, I know for myself, I always like a bit of constructive criticism. Let me know if you'd rather I keep these thoughts to myself.)
