This is just a quick preview of the gold I landed on for my second last mining trip of the year in Alberta. The highbanker is yet another iteration towards my production machine I am building, and in this series I get to put it through it's paces and take some notes to improve the final machine. Tune back in next week for a longer video where I enjoy the second last trip of the year out on the water.
Thanks for watching!

It gets better. too one of the best, possibly the best , Maybe the best. If it gets flour gold this size at 95+% efficient ,larger gold should be a cake walk. It would seem you are classified to about 1/4" material . In a future iteration one would want to try different larger size screen classification and different diamond size of your expand metal . Then the limits of your sluice will be known that way. Your hopper design looks to be zeroed in . I would think every one is impressed with your efforts and would love to get their hands on one

Night prospecting is actually pretty fun. Pairs well with camping so you can do a little night dig then straight to bed!

Hi Kyle. Good spot. Winter is coming to you. I can hear the goose in the back. Hope the next part is coming soon. Do you know how many liters of water need the sluice to run well?
@UtmostOutdoors
@UtmostOutdoors 7 ай бұрын
Hi, I think that 36gph works out to 136 liters per minute or 8160 liters per hour. That seems to be a good flow rate for the 20" wide double level.

I made a small production run and will update my website within a month hopefully. Pricing for the final product worked out to just under $2000cad or about $1450usd.

I do like the machine it's come along ways and just keeps getting better. My question is will this thing bealbe to backpack it in. Or are we talking quad machine

At 38lbs final product weight, I would bungee it to a pack frame, and I think a full mining setup with the wx15 pump would be two hikes in. Perfect for a couple of people working a big sandy bar that's hard to access. I think a smaller battery powered machine would be plenty capable for many areas, but this would fit the bill for when you need beach box capabilities but don't have a road in. It all folds down nicely and no parts or mats fall out when it's packed for transport. I built it as compact as possible for the monster it is specifically from remembering how I used to strap it to the back of a seadoo in the 2020 season. This machine is actually 3" shorter than that original box but with much better recovery. I've definitely packed worse through the woods, haha!

For us battery operated systems, how many GPH are needed to get a decent water flow with good capture rate on your system. 100 Ah batteries are really coming down in price. Of course another way would be to prescreen your material into 5 gallon buckests and feed your machine.

Running the 20" wide double level, you only actually need 36gpm... that's 36gpm measured at the highbanker, so account for line losses. It's completely reasonable to run electric, I suspect.
@TheJohnEdmonton
@TheJohnEdmonton 7 ай бұрын
Wow......that's a bit less then 2200 GPH. Yes.....that is very doable. Interesting. Thanks Kyle.
@UtmostOutdoors
@UtmostOutdoors 7 ай бұрын
@TheJohnEdmonton based on what little I've seen, I'd aim for a pump that claims to double that. Make sure you have a bit extra you can throttle back and Account for line losses. Still very do-able.

@@UtmostOutdoors Yes......under our conditions, corrigated hoses, height of hoses, length of hoses, you do need extra pressure.

Why do most prospecting videos show the carpets dumped into gold pans instead of an easier and safer water filled bucket to wash out the cons
@UtmostOutdoors

I guess if you're going to do a quick pan anyways, and your mat is small enough to fit into a gold pan, why not? I use a larger tub for full cleanouts.
