Thomas Blug is quite possibly the "best" guitar-playing mad scientist around...Little wonder he finally decided to go out there on his own...Now I gotta try that new IR box... :)

Thanks To Dan, Mick, Lee, and the entire Andertons crew at NAMM for all your hard work. The sheer quantity of videos you cranked out so quickly amazed me and, as always, you made it all a lot of fun. Thanks guys and have a safe trip back to the UK.

Thomas is revolutionising the industry, fantastic, usable products at reasonable prices, and practical size/weight. Great interview Guys

Absolutely. 99% of guitar innovations are all hype and serve no real purpose. The AMP1, by contrast, is like a Swiss Army knife for guitar sound - light, well-featured, sounds really, really good in its own right. I play a lot of support slot gigs where it's shared backline and I can gig electric almost as easily as acoustic and can walk or take the bus where before I would have had to drive. So the main selling point of the AMP1 is enabling me to have a beer!

I've been waiting for someone to bring out exactly this. I predict that with so many variables in micing up a cabinet on stage, you'd probably often get better sound with this technology.

I plugged my Bluguitar Amp 1 into a Raezors Edge 12" cab with a Celestial Gold and I got a tone very similar to a Tweed Bassman. My favorite speaker cab is an Evans box with a 15" Kappalite Eminence. Favorable reactions from the other guys in the band (and pickers in the house.) Super loud, full and beefy like a 2X12 box.... only about 30 lbs.
@RobbDizzl7 жыл бұрын
The BluBox looks so great and I know that it has pretty much all the cabs you need but I still wished it had a "user"-slot to load in an own IR.

not being very technical I have a question, can this be hooked up at the end of your pedal train and then into your amp or do you need a pre amp?
@Furriee7 жыл бұрын
This is the amplifier with effect loop. You connect it to the cab, like traditional head. Thats all. I've bought it as a second amp before christmas, and I am loving it.

Nice cabinet emulator. I wonder if he should have named it the BluBox, since he might create other boxes in the future... :-)
@bla_blub7 жыл бұрын
Lawrence Gillespie Hughes & Kettner has the Red Box and he worked for H&K, so maybe it's inspired by that and used the "Blu" which is part of his name. I'm just guessing though.

@thehont86487 жыл бұрын
I don't think so. At 9:54 Thomas explains that for a "Marshall, a Fender, a Vox you need a load". It's only with the Amp 1 that you don't need a load.
@Ullish19897 жыл бұрын
The Hont but he says that you can connect it up to the thru?
@filip51507 жыл бұрын
Ullish1989 with the speaker in and thru you can connect it between amp and your cabinet. But if you want to go silent you need to have a loadbox and the signal will go from 'speaker thru' to a loadbox instead of cabinet. One advantage is that you only need a loadbox for the load. You don't need it for the line level signal to go to the IR cab simulator. This way I think you can buy a cheap loadbox because you don't need it to sound great
@Ullish19897 жыл бұрын
Filip Sykut ahh yep makes sense. just need to get this and a good loadbox then! any recommendations? radial?

Convolution using impulse responses is one of the instances where digital signal processing really shines and is virtually indistinguishable from reality. It takes a fairly hefty amount of processing power though.
@officialWWM6 жыл бұрын
Interesting how he says it sounds like an amp in his earphones and how awesome it is etc, then they do a video on running direct to a PA and monitoring with earphones and carry on about how much they hate it...with the very same amp ! Make your minds up guys!
