@@GardenLawncareGuy well it is to be expected. You make quality content without all the special effects youtubers put in their videos. The internet has introduced new ways for us to be connected. We don't have to look alike or even have the same realities for us to have the same interest. Nonetheless, which grass would you recommend for a hot, humid and tropical weather?

The lawn is looking great I’ve followed all your advice and my lawn is getting there. I guess I’m about 2 weeks behind you in progress and I’m just looking to fill in about 3 spots that haven’t germinated as well as the rest. I’m wondering if I should just mow it now and then add seeds to the barer patches or leave the mowing until the thinner areas catch up? Your advice has helped me turn around an area that was killing me to watch getting worse by the day and now it’s almost back to the way it was when I first laid it out in new turf.

Nice glad to hear you have been getting good results! Make sure to keep on the with the lawncare calender series to keep it looking good. If you 4-6 weeks in the mow them, its fine. Just don't take too much off, only the tips and gradually being down over several cuts

Good video once again. With the boards you put in place at the start of this project, do you plan to keep those in place permanently or remove them once the grass edge can support itself?
@GardenLawncareGuy4 жыл бұрын
Not sure yet, they look pretty good at the moment and abit of protection when people get out the cars etc so I'm thinking of keeping them for now, especially for another season as due to settlement I can get it more level next season with another dressing and the boards really help that

I must’ve said this before but I’m really impressed mate with how well it’s done! I’ve decided to have a play with bent grass (golf green grass) on my front lawn, I was wondering if you’ve had any experience with it/ any advice?

Garden Lawncare Guy yeah ngl I was surprised you went with rye for the front but it looks like some great varieties, and quite fine bladed. I’m getting envious of it for my back lawn 😂, although the one I’m currently using is very nice.
Brilliant video! Did you cover how you managed to do the double stripe?

Great video! I'm currently a couple of weeks into a garden turf renovation, watering twice a day (morning, early afternoon) as the temperature isn't as warm over night. It's looking much healthier and will be looking to fertilise 3 weeks or so after the first cut. My question is should I continue with watering once it has been fertilised? I assume yes but didn't see anything specific about watering habits in this video. I'm also getting weeds starting to show having removed them all in the initial preparation, should I look to get some weed and feed in the mix soon? Finally, that sprinkler set up in the video, I can't find anything like that! - Thanks in advance!

Hi, great results and been referring to your videos while doing my own lawn renovation (complete re-seed). Did my first cut last weekend and it's due again. How often should I mow and at what height please?
@GardenLawncareGuy4 жыл бұрын
Nice Chris, for cutting get to around 2-3 inches and bring it down from there. The general rule is no more than 1/3 off the blade so drop it down weekly or every 5 or so days over a few cuts say 3-6 cuts. Mine is at 40mm right now, left it abit longer going into summer

Great vid,.., when seeding a new lawn to keep birds away what is the best method? I have seen people hang bits of string with CDs on them and also put that fine green garden mesh all the way over your grass??? What do you think??
@GardenLawncareGuy4 жыл бұрын
I did see some birds around mine and by default the best thing is to cover the seeded area with dressing. My house and next doors house also have a cat which helps during the day keep away but also why i didn't want to use a net incase they got trapped. You can also put a bird feeder out to give a different feed source and then I've seen people use bird tape, bottles on sticks, CDs, metal owls and a random / motion sprinkler system.

Hi mate, I’m just about to reseed my lawn and I have bought the seed/fert pack from A1 after watching your results with it. I just wanted to be sure that I have it right, do I spread the fert first then straight on to reseed then water it all in?
@GardenLawncareGuy3 жыл бұрын
For overseeding I put my seed down, roll or tread it in for seed to soil, then fert on top
@cloudsync5154 жыл бұрын
My lawn was looking amazing especially after using the envil seeweed. Couple of weeks later I decided to apply weed and feed on my 12 week old lawn and made sure I spread evenly. Iv noticed after couple of days that only the creeping fescue in my lawn mix (creaping fescue with rye) has burnt. Any advice how I can revive the lawn. Do you think I applied the weed and feed to soon.
@GardenLawncareGuy4 жыл бұрын
Yes you cant apply a weed product to a new lawn, most say min 6 months and also you shouldn't apply a fert to a new lawn. Best case, keep Watering and see if it bounces back. Do not apply any products atall - worst case overseed around September

I've just got some A1 pre seed fertiliser (6-9-6) and looking to seed some bare spots on my front lawn. During the application process how would/did you go about using this product along with seeding? Did you wait a few days after using the pre seeding before overseeding?

@Minkywhispers4 жыл бұрын
Nice results man. Have you tried soluble ferts and what are your experiences with them? Loving the A1 I might give this a shot going into autumn if there's a low nitrogen option in the A1 range. On your back lawn how often do you apply the A1 and seaweed ferts? You on a 5 week turnaround on both?
@GardenLawncareGuy4 жыл бұрын
My main soluable apps are the seafeed and liquid iron. I do the Granular base around 5-8 weeks when it needs to and then iron+seafeed in between the cycle as a liquid app. They do a autumn fert but only sell it when the season starts i think, the spring summer woth iron and seaweed has made the lawn crazy good in the back!
@johnb89564 жыл бұрын
A1 is definitely a good company. I use the luxury hard wearing mix on my back lawn and it’s great, despite being pummelled by it being used as a cricket pitch 😂
