What a nice upbeat mass-murder song, a lot of cheerfulness in it. Nick is one hell of a sinister poet of dark humor.

I've been waiting for someone to react to this song. So glad it was you. This is one of my favorite Nick Cave songs, it really reminds me of some of Warren Zevon's songs - especially Excitable Boy - with its discordant tune and lyrics.

"It's more like the other way around." Love this song, kind of surprised in a pleasant way that somebody reacted to it. I don't know whether you have ever heard of the band Lard but you might check out the album The Last Temptation of Reid given that the very opening of this song you are reacting to reminds me quite a bit of that group. The band is Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedy's and Al Jourgensen of Ministry (not sure if you've listened to either on this channel, it's been a while since I've visited).

One of the better songs of the album. On a couple of live occasions, Nick Cave did his band introducing while doing this song. The song only appeared during the 2000 - 2001. From MB even Lovely Creature was done live a couple of times. Death is Not the End has been done on TV I believe. There's a couple of songs on the album that was never done live. Song of Joy, Crow Jane, Kindness Of Strangers. Also the B-Sides Knoxville Girl, King Kong Kitchee Kitchee Ki-Mi-O and The Ballad Of Robert Moore And Betty Coltrane.

Firstly Peaky Blinders is brilliant secondly one of the (many) reasons I love Daniels reactions is that they introduce me to music I haven’t previously heard and this is going straight on my playlist. The only thing is am I a bit twisted that I had a huge grin at the end of the song?

@@darcysalas3042 so so sorry for the delayed reply. I don't use any social media. A few years ago I did get a Facebook whatever just for the sole purpose to communicate with Daniel. He soon said he did not use Facebook much and gave me one of his 7 emails... I have only used FB for the marketplace feature since or occasionally to see something my wife or daughter posted, but nothing else. Have not had the time/urge to connect with folks... Never tweeted. My corporate exec aunt once told me to go on LinkedIn... I had business connections from 20 years ago pinging me... Never went back a second time... I can do that when my family is completely grown and gone. Now they are the focus... A few more years then I might take a dip into social media tools. I'm also very behind on upgrading laptop etc. Budget tight with both kids in college. So I use my phone for most things and that limits creative and thoughtful correspondence generation. I was able to send out a few things to Daniel I had been meaning to send. Unfortunately after sending it, I saw him do a LP review and one of the LPs I included was considered C level... No big deal just a little awkward after hearing his review... Oh well... I really haven't had much time for YT of late. My daughter announced her wedding plans in August for a November wedding. It has been a wild ride. It is amazing how well everything has come together. All good here for sure but crazy busy until after the big day. I might not be around much but will make time when I can. I hope you're feeling better today. And your check up went well. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. All the best
