His reactions remind me of my Soviet friends that came here after the USSR fell. I went with my friend to take her Dad to a grocery store for the first time. In Salt Lake City in the 90s, we didn’t have a lot of national grocery stores. Just local ones . When we walked in… like 2 feet in the store… he dropped to his knees and BAWLED HIS EYES OUT . The manager was so touched and excited for him that he told them to get whatever they wanted and he would pay for it. He was so shocked about everything. He had never had a banana people. When he got to the meat section.!!!! Never had steak 🥩. We have no idea how blessed we are here. Even food at the dollar store here is more than what is in Cuba.

I'm so proud of this country..why can't everyone else. We are a land of immigrants. We want people here legally..our country is founded on immigrants. The ones who want to have communist here need to move to those countries for 1yr. Then come back here and stand up for our frigging flag. I welcome you here and hope you enough it

Loved Mari's response to somebody in the chat pining about moving to Cuba: "Good luck with that. It's not going to end up being like how you thought of it on vacation." Wise words. Too many people romanticize about the other side of the fence not realizing what they're getting themselves into.

Maybe but things ain't looking to good here with one political party denying ever election now. How long do you think we are going to last here??? And the abject hatred they have for brown people. God will not continue to bless us with all of this forcing people to do as you do, hate who you hate, pray like you pray.

You might want to contact Bob Vila from "This Old House." He's Cuban and ran this great tv show on how to restore old houses. It was on PBS but I haven't seen it in a few years. I am 80 years old and I went back to see Cuba and El Vedado over 10 years ago. It was so sad; there is no maintenance and the people look sad. It will take several generations to see recovery of any kind. I'm glad Yoel made the decision to start a better life here. Welcome! Also, thank you both very much for continuing to speak Spanish...I am thrilled to hear Cuban Spanish again! Besos.

They don't talk about it. You can't even ask about it. And they would never go back because they are petrified they wouldn't be able to return to the US. They have such fear and trauma. People monetize their channels for less. Music reaction videos don't educate really, you just watch someone listen to music and comment on it. Use any money you get for things that matter to you. You are offering a really wonderful service by educating us on Cuba and the current immigrant experience. Give the money to...the English teachers, your camera and a new laptop, send it to any organizations that are helping Cubans, food closets, or even something that supports immigrants. I know someone else who doesn't personally take the donations, but they give it to food closets.

Add superchat to your livestreaming. KZbinrs who livestream for extended periods receive donations from viewers via this platform while they are talking to their followers. Many people do this and the dollars add up. They do their best to prioritize answering the questions of donors first (without explicitly saying so...it's discrete). This drives more donations and more meaningful interactions. Every time you have a new experience you can consider livestreaming it and opening up your superchat so that people donate. I've seen New Yorkers do this as they tour the city and receive donations from all over the world as they are walking around providing a tour of NY. They also directly speak to their donor while filming. It's a great exchange. Loving your content. I have more than 100 family members still in Cuba.

If I had to guess I would say he will be bilingual in a short time. While it would be fraught with issues - If you two were to break down Communism and Socialism in simple ways for Americans to see and understand it could be HUGE. Maybe not on yt. There are other social media platforms like Bitchute that allow you to say whatever you want in your videos. The simple way in which Yoel explained Dictatorship and Socialism is a big deal. Keep your options open. Yoel's understanding and life experience could have unique career opportunities. Intelligence often shines through the eyes and his are glowing.

It seems to me that the difference here and there isn't just economics or resources but choice. We have our issues with Capitalism like poverty but we still have our choices and freedom so the opportunity change your station in life is there so you can always dream. So long as you give people the means to improve their life they will have the will and so everyone flourishes. There it seems like there aren't many options so essentially the life is being choked out, controlled or held too tightly. Would that be a good assessment in the difference?
