I was excited to see Van Rysel in there. I was looking at buying one before you went down under. I also really like that ice blue/glacier paint job. It is super smart. Mostly, though, I was interested in the tires they were rolling on.

in romania decatlon has the worst bike shop repare....avoid bay ebibe from them..ussles warant.avoid go there with full suspesion bike,they like use spay lube and complet kill brakes pads with oil(and all know u are nt alowed ut oil there)mount rong tires lol,2 people worck over 30 min to mount one scwalbe durano p tire...the worst of the worst...

@gcntech n ot yet. I'm down to a choice of five bikes or to build up my own. I have to decide this week and it's killing me. I've been sweating this decision for a couple of weeks now. The problem is I need a road bike and a tri bike or a road bike with clip on tri bars. Van Rysel seems like a great deal, but I don't want to make an investment and find out that I hate my position all racing season if it is not right for me. It's a huge decision that I can't take lightly.

Only Decathlon gets the big advertisement, Cube is cheaper and is in the pro Peloton for years. Litening and Litening Air looking awesome as well.

Back from Mallorca Challenge 2024, where I had the chance to inspect almost all bikes from the world -and local- teams. Hoping to find some prototypes (SRAM!), but nothing noteworthy to add.

I have the Bianchi Oltre Pro and for me the RC is an amaizing bike but i like the Cervelo too! For a mountain race i think the best is the colnago V4RS ^^ So 1) Bianchi Oltre RC 2) Cervelo S5 3) Colnago V4RS 4) Van Rysel RCR ^^

I think you should have shown the bikes of Israel Premier Tech and Lotto also. IPT won the Tour down under and these teams take part at all important races.

Just got myself a second hand Van Rysel Ultra RCR from 2019, barely used :-) Can't wait to play with it. Still haven't tried, winter time here : I let my other bike on the home trainer and spare that Van Rysel for the real world.

@@gcntech In fact, I'm a bit nervous because it will be my first bike with tubeless wheels/tires, carbon aero wheels, and a Di2 groupset 😛 I made that choice (Van Rysel) for several reasons: I got my first bikes from Canyon, but I noticed that the prices go up and up and up, year after year, for the same or even less features. And although I didn't have any problem with my Canyons, they only sell online, so, not easy to have them to fix stuff, if needed. Locally, there is a Decathlon, and then have a good reputation, so I'm confident that they will help, in case… Then, obviously, my budget is very tight, so I was looking for a second hand bike at the best quality/price ratio. Can't beat that VR. At the pace that manufacturers keep increasing their prices, I will for now only buy second hands. Then, there is that debate, between rims and disk brakes 🙂I'm fine with the disk brakes on my (kinda) gravel bike, but I only ride my road bike when the weather is OK, so rim brakes are not an issue. They still have a slight advantage on the weight.

It's amazing how we see tyre brands become popular over time. For many years such as the late 80's/early 90's it was Vittoria. Then Continental, and now Vittoria again. With some new brands also making an entrance again i.e. Pirelli. And brands like Specialized providing the tyres for their own sponsored teams 👍

3w is nothing - there are other differences between these tyres that might be more significant (e.g. if a tyre has better grip that could easily outweigh rr in terms of overall speed).

No, sadly not. After AG2R made the switch to Van Rysel they are now equipped with Shimano instead of Campagnolo groupsets.

You've been swallowing too much of the wide tyre / tubless marketing BS... Only maybe a 5w difference between tubular and tubeless or clinchers with latex, and there are many, many other differences between bikes that are also of that magnitude. And there are significant practical advantages of tubulars that balance out the very small rolling resistace differences.

Personnaly, I hate with passion those gigantic white multiple writing (and logos) on wheels that make bikes look busy. If I want litterature, I prefer to grab a book. Despite that aspect, I vote for Scott Foil, Cube C68X and because I'm French, Van Rysel RCR pro. The dogma F has nice colors but its design (the fork particularly) is the ugliest on earth.

Thanks for the comment. It's interesting isn't it, from a brand/sponsor perspective many want their brands to be highly visible through bold logos, but as consumers, many want the opposite! It's always great to hear views on this!

My favourite part about the TDU this year was smoking the Lycra clad Roadies on their group rides,whilst I’m on a Medium geared Single Speed 😂😂😂 Savings so many watts to go slow AF 😂 Nah but seriously, I’f I’m running 51/17, it shouldn’t even be a contest But there they are, out the saddle, getting smoked Would have been nice to run into a few pros on the road, guaranteed to lose but, I’d have given it a shot, or pulled into a bike shop quickly to get a bigger chainring fitted 😂
