My niece works for CROW (Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife) on Sanibel, the employees took as many animals as possible off the island prior to the storm hitting. When Morgan was allowed back, CROW was still standing. The animals they had to move to higher elevation within the hospital, were fine, and removed to another clinic. The workers at CROW are now taking care of cleanup on Sanibel.

I've seen hurricane destruction, but this is on an other level... Wow....And as you said it is not over. Even if your house survived, the water will have done severe damage probably and chances are that you can't see it and mold and things might grow. Please be careful with that. Sending you guys a virtual hug!

You find out, real quick, who your friends are in times like these.. I am amazed at how checked-out people are to these massive disasters. They don't want to know about it, hear about it, watch it, nothing.. they just go on living their life with their head in the sand. I spent, all last weekend, watching videos about the aftermath of Hurricane Ian and feel like I have a whole new appreciation for the people in these disasters. 💓💓💓

Thank you for taking the time to learn about all that is happening and really feeling what those in these effected areas are experiencing. It’s a total disaster area! It honestly on par to what the people of Ukraine are going through and those people still have more pain and storms headed their way. The world is filled with opportunities to help and making a difference. taking action to help is what is needed. Thank you for you’re kind works 🙏❤️‍🩹

Watching with tears in my eyes. Sending not just the energy and hope from my heart, but contributing $ as much as I can to help those there. General Honore from New Orleans recently shared words of caution from that experience that disasters like these don’t only attract the true angels and angel-warriors to help the impacted, but also those who are focused on taking advantage of those desperate for a solution. So very glad that you two can be the angels and agents to more angels to help. Love to you both and to your family and friends there!

There are no words to express my feelings and gratitude that you came back when you did. So thankful your parents are safe and what a blessing their houses are pk for the most part. I'm grateful you are able to go to help with the clean up which will be a long time to battle through this mess. The Lord instructs us through His word to build our houses on solid ground and I hope those who have lost their homes can find such a place to relocate to so they don't need to live through a nightmare like this ever again. I also pray that the churches have strong foundations and that means literally as well as figuratively. Everyone needs to band together and hold on to each other tight for moral strength and fortitude to put their lives back together. Prayers and blessings to you Brittany & Drew for your help and donations to those in need.

We are still working at it over 1 yr later, finally got our kitchen and bath cabinets last week. Prayers for endurance as the recovery road is ling and very trying. It changes you really. 🙏

This storm has been life changing for me and my family. I am just behind Stump Pass Marina in Placida. Thankful we had our manufactured home jacked up 3 years ago and had 18 new hurricane straps installed and we also removed the roof. We replaced all of the plywood with new, roofer at 6 new vents and a metal roof. My house didn’t budge but I came home to my neighbors roof in my front years and the other neighbors mobile home upside on my back yard. Life changing and we have 1000’s homeless here in Englewood. Prayers to all in the path of the wrath.

My husband went into a coma at home and passed away two days before the storm. My brother and I left his home to get away from the storm surge. We rode out the storm in Port Charlotte in my shuttle bus. The eye went right over us. The first eye wall was rocking the bus but I had her bow into the wind so no side hits, the second eye wall was from another direction and before I could move the bus to get her bow back in the wind 3 strong gusts removed my 6 solar panels and all the mounting hardware. Once into the wind she rocked but never blew over. We know we were truly blessed. As it turns out his house was fine, no water, just a lot of oak tree damage. Ft Myers and the barrier islands Sanibel, Pine Island, etc look like a nuclear bomb went off. It’s going to take a long time to recover, and the “Old Florida” feel of those small villages will never be the same. Glad your folks are okay, and their damage wasn’t extreme.

Our house in the Keys sustained significant damage due to Irma in 2017. It was 7 days before residents were allowed back in the middle Keys. Everything went to the street and was picked up daily by a front loader tractor. The bottom floor was gutted completely. Appliances from the Keys were taken to a location in the Upper Keys and lined the roadway for 5 miles, 5 deep. Things to buy now! Mold tests, bleach, vinegar, gloves, buckets, trash cans to carry stuff out. When rebuilding we tried to stay one step ahead of everyone else so we usually got our lumber, doors, dry wall, new appliances, cabinets, etc before our only Home Depot ran out. Take pictures of everything you send to the street for insurance purposes. Good luck to you

With every sunrise comes the blessing of hope and rebirth. A chance to begin anew. Life changes in the blink of an eye. There is discussion that even with flood insurance a possibility exists that insurance companies could start declaring bankruptcy. While I cannot contribute financially, (my funds are currently helping feed my grandchildren), I will look into what I can do, what the needs are as I watch where you are helping. I make soaps etc, perhaps there is something that I can do. I can offer up healing energy to all those that have been affected. I feel blessed to watch the two of you and how you have always been so selfless, caring and compassionate. Even from Canada perhaps I can help with trauma talking etc. Blessings to both of you and your family.

Takes jackeries! You’ll need those. Camp stoves and propane to cook onsite to suppilment your van. Water of course, but relief sites will provide a lot of buffaloes, so you will need containers. Big plastic bags, gloves, etc. Gatorade, electrolytes, sports drinks. Best wishes. Laundry centers will be st up eventually off site.

I lived on the second floor of a 1920s build when Ike came through Galveston in 2008. At least 10ft of water on my street as I lived on the narrow East end, so while my place stayed dry and the building remained intact, my downstairs neighbor lost everything. Four months of look & leave and barely any city resources in town to even attempt a clean up before we could move back home 😔 I definitely wish your parents and all the people of the west coast of FL much love and light in their rebuilding efforts ❤
