Othar than continually deploying & parking, how to smooth out the stiff trigger? Can it be dissembled & internal surfaces polished? Would it be DIY-able, or need be taken to a knife mage?
@straighttothepoint34772 жыл бұрын
I think the issue is in the lack of texturing on the switch. If there was more defined steps or grooves I think it would solve the issue. Take a look at other brands of otf.. all have defined texturing that really grabs your thumb. The Koschei however lacks that. You can try adding a micro drop of oil under the switch but that will only help a little
@straighttothepoint34772 жыл бұрын
You might be able to find someone to mill texturing into the switch for you

Nice review - I don't understand why all these OTF companies put glass breakers on the butt just because microtech did. They are annoying and 99% of people are never going to use it. In fact im sure you could break a piece of glass with the knife butt alone

Thank you! And i wonder the same thing! Maybe i will have to make a glass breaker testing video 🤣 ive heard they work good but idk haha. Also feel free to check out some of my newer vids (posted one today actually) and sub so i dont miss your comments!

I read recently that car manufacturers are putting the same type of glass used in windshield in all car windows now. Laminated safety glass that isn't going to break and just fall out.

Great review man, but I noticed you mentioned that Benchmade uses D2. I see why you might think that, as they only mark their blades with “D2”, but they actually use CPM-D2, which is the particle formed version of D2 and is a MUCH different beast as a whole. Keep up the good work though homie. 👍
@straighttothepoint34772 жыл бұрын
That is interesting, I didn't know that tbh, I will look more into it. And thanks man I really appreciate it!
@jamesfair97512 жыл бұрын
Yeah I came to say the say thing. There is d2 and cpm d2 which is powder metallurgy giving it much smaller grain structure a lot tougher and holds an edge a lot better. Regular d2 is still decent enough tho and actually really good on a budget knife.

If a full-auto OTF has retraction problems, this indicates a factory flaw.
@straighttothepoint34772 жыл бұрын
I just think the switch is just a bit stiff and has a lack of texture on the switch for grip, so I'm thinking more like a minor design flaw IMHO. Thanks for your input!
@Slinkylabcat2 жыл бұрын
@@straighttothepoint3477 Which would indicate an intrinsic flaw. Lookit, I think we can all agree that an overly-smooth OTF action is dangerous. But I have no evidence of this; every full-auto OTF I've had is a thumb-buster.
@straighttothepoint34772 жыл бұрын
@@Slinkylabcat yeah I suppose, the problem would be fixed just by adding better grip to the switch. Also I am going to be posting another, more thought out full review of this knife in a day or 2

I live in Switzerland and I have an Benchmade infidel, zero tolerances, and spydercos. You can order whatever you want online, then it's poker play if the customs get your knife or not. Everything is allowed in Switzerland except symetrical blades and butterflys. I was lucky they didn't catch the infidel = 350$ lost
@kevin60302 жыл бұрын
so you don't know many other knife makers that sell their knives in a padded zip up case almost like a handgun case. you don't have many good knives my friend because 90% of all quality knives come packaged that way or with hard impact plastic cases. not bragging just speaking from experience my friend. these are low to mid grade knives. get a microtech and you'll see what a nice OTF is.
@straighttothepoint34772 жыл бұрын
Bruh I just said in the last comment.. I have a microtech ultratech which cost me 300, and I have a sog pentagon otf which was 400 and neither of which came in a nice fancy case lol you ever heard of TwoSun knives?
