Love the GTO. I had a 70 hardtop 400 non Ram Air for 5 years and had great memories in that car. I hope someday to own another. Wish I could buy it.

Beautiful cars. The Corvette has the higher compression 454, AC and fully loaded in the right colors. The GTO convertible, different colors, ram air three plus four speed plus AC. Wow! Unique ordered cars from 1970! Add a Buick GSX with AC, what a trifecta!

I live in Wylie and have met Dennis in the wild. Great guy with a super cool demeanor. Just curious where he took you to lunch. Downtown to the cafe is my guess. I'd take that GTO in a heartbeat.

My father ordered a 1970 Ram Air IV GTO and they took his deposit. Some time later, Pontiac called him up and told him that they had quit making the Ram Air IV GTO for the remainder of the 1970 model year, but he could get a 455 GTO for the same price. Between my father, the dealer and Pontiac, they later agreed to assemble one last 1970 Ram Air IV GTO for his order. So his GTO was likely the last Ram Air IV GTO assembled. It wasn't until some time later that he learned that the RAIV engines that had been assembled for the discontinued 1970 RAIV GTO's were used in the 1970 1/2 RAIV Firebirds. So the 1970 1/2 RAIV Firebirds got 1970 GTO engines. The 1970 RAIV GTO was purposely discontinued mid-year to leave some RAIV engines for the 1970 1/2 Firebirds.

@@jamesmcclure4743 He used it for semi-pro drag racing, not on the street. He put the RAIV cylinder heads on a race prepped 421 Super Duty engine. It was a 4-speed car. Some years later, he replaced the 70 GTO with a 68 Firebird for less weight and the last 2 or 3 years he raced, he replaced the 4-speed with an automatic for bracket racing. Then the shins in his legs couldn't take sitting in the fiberglass seat for long periods, waiting to race, so he quit racing after 20 or 21 years. He had a SD Catalina, a 65 GTO, a 68 Firebird, the 70 GTO and then back to the 68 Firebird, all with the 421 SD from the Calalina. Well he used the crank and rods from the 421 SD, but he did replace the block and other parts over the years. It ended up with a 455 block, ported RAIV heads, a roller cam, headers and a Holley intake with an 850 DP carb and Mallory ignition. He bought all of the cars new that he raced, using his employee discount at the dealer where he was a technician. They were originally all 4 speed cars.

Toss up Corvette or GTO? Love the Vette, don't care for the song "Little Red Corvette", other than that it's sweeet.. I'll have to go with the GTO 4sp and color combo, and I'm not big on convertibles either. GTO in a close one..😁 Couldn't talk me into the Hellcat. Old school 4 ever..

Is new Orleans a three day auction? If so, will all three livestreams be available after the auction? I ask this because the TV broadcasts are on Friday and Saturday, not Thursday. So, I just want to make sure that all three days will be available to view in the "all cars, all the time" format like the previous 3 auctions were this year.

Awesome cars as always ,I think the reason tere was few black muscle are was who wanted to be a slave to keeping it clean and polished as a daily driver Mos t colours didn't show the dust and dirt , I will never own another black car

The big problem with all American muscle cars. They all look like they weigh a tone in weight plus drivers seats on the wrong side unfortunately?? I’ve never been a fan of muscle cars there like Americans, big and loud😂😂
