I have a couple of these "cheap" amazon ones. one can record one cannot. Mine both use 8 AA batteries which get used up in about 5 minutes. I converted one to 4 18650s which last about 20 minutes between charges. The 18650s are just in a 4 battery holder velcroed to the bottom of the device. just soldered the wires to the correct pins of the AA battery connections

With a company name seemingly made up of a bunch of jumbled letters (like most Amazon products now) that charging icon without a battery connected gave me a chuckle.

The fact that it was drawing near 300 mA with the battery not charging gave me a frown. Where’s all that current going? One of my favorite GunTubers has reviewed a couple of different versions of this kind of gizmos from different manufacturers. The features seem to be pretty constant through your model but the prices have, rather predictably I suppose, been dropping spectacularly.

You could probably use it as a sort of trail camera or security camera. With external power, you could leave it running in loop mode.

Being sensitive to IR, I bet you can use this to test solar panels in electroluminescence. The narrow angle lens is not ideal though.

THE FINIRSI NVS 20 IS THE SAME PRICE AND CONSIDERABLY BETTER, SMALL SCEEN BUT BETTER IMAGING, AND GOOD ZOOM.
