This and Stern spider man are the only books i bought at cover through 3rd party when i started to omni a few years ago. Glad for reprints for everyone else and no regrets :) Its 90% nostalgia but this is my favorite marvel event of all time. Reading SS at the time and seeing the build up im sure helped a lot. I would be interested in collected volumes that have inserted pages that act as history and trivia annotations. Pages inserted between issues, not just at the front and back. Or heck even some kind of margins/foot note (e.g. Crisis on Infinite Earths Deluxe Edition). Kind of like the actor commentaries you get with special editions of a movie.

That omnibus and infinity gauntlet is why i started collecting omnibus comics. Im a big fan of what Marvel MCU did with the infinity gauntlet movies, and i wanted to read them in their original comics versions. I was really disappointed when i found out its out of print, but now.. now i will have it. Despite what 2020 has been so far, im going to have two Christmas days this year. ;)

I remember reading this at the time. I had just started collecting the Silver Surfer around 43, I think. I had no idea any big event was coming, I just got the Surfer because I liked space and I thought he was kind of cool. Then the Infinity Gauntlet came out and I thought it was pretty good. Funny thing is, the last few issues never came to my local newsagent. I searched around all the newsagents in my area at the time and even got my parents to drive me to ones further away. All with no luck. I just had to give up on it. Many years later I finally read a digital version of the last few issues. I'd actually quit comics for a few years and didn't get back in really until the early 2000's and I found it to be a pretty decent ending once I finally read it.

Omar, these 3 Infinity Omnis are great. However, isn’t the Infinity Gauntlet Box Set more extensive? I know the omnis are oversized, but I believe the box set contains everything, with the exception of the the back half of Warlock and Infinity Watch. When I bought the Box Set a few years ago, I checked and the Infinity Gauntlet omni was missing issues. Thanks for the content, as always!

Omar I know you said the new one lays flatter but I paused at the 10:22 mark and the original printing is showing way more. For example, on the top panel you can see more towards the gutter (there is some stuff you can’t even see on the new printing as it’s lost in the gutter) and also the bottom panel the text is going into the gutter more in the new printing. So I’m confused.

There's another omnibus called "Thanos Wars: Infinity Origins" which collects the earlier Starlin cosmic stories which introduce a lot of elements (like the character himself) seen here. It's not required, but would be helpful. You could also find one of the trade paperbacks, like "Thanos vs. the Avengers" or "Warlock: The complete collection" by Starlin.

Always loved how he drew the Silver Surfer in every panel with random shines/gleams all over his body. I am debating on whether I should get this or not. I have the Infinity Gauntlet trade paperback and the two Silver Surfer Epics (Thantos Quest and Infinity Gauntlet) that seem to cover most of the content from this book. I think all that is missing is the Silver Surfer issues 34-38 and 40 and the Spider-man and Hulk issue, etc) so I am thinking I should just wait for the release of the Silver Surfer Epic Collection that would collect the rest of the issues or prelude.

Just put mine on order! I’m taking a big risk since I usually don’t buy collected editions unless I’ve read it before, especially one at this price point. I had some of the tie-ins from back in the day but never read the full saga. But even if I think the story doesn’t live up to the hype, the art is too gorgeous to pass up. Plus, it serves as the basis for the highest grossing movie of all time.

For example, this omni releases on Nov 10th in my country, but it says when going into the order that it won't arrive until Nov 25th... any ideas?
