Closest thing to Group B now, is the Pikes Peak unlimited class. Almost zero rules. Build what you can and climb the hill. They routinely produce more downforce than an F1 at the same speed

Group B, back then you had cars peaking well over 500HP to 700HP To give you an idea about the spec back then fastestlaps.com/models/ford-rs200-evolution-1986 and this was technically the road legal car. Audi had an evolved Quattro S1 that weight only 1000kg but had 700HP. These cars back then would put modern supercars to shame with their 0-60 times.

Good 'ol cable actuated drums! Now seriously what kind of brakes do these cars use? You don't really use them that much in a desert because rolling resistance is insane so no fade, but locking the wheel every now and then is necesary
