i been wanting a craft bait system for years. like we can catch minnow, but cant use it as bait in return. i feel like they couldve added that option long ago for a realism factor. but im glad its being looked into now

Hey BZ I am from Australia and down here squid is massive thing. We catch the calamari species of squid all year round but the big ones come in winter. Anyway, we is something called squid jigs and they come in many colours + sizes but the one that we use are size 3.0 to size 3.5. Go check them out. A good brand is yamashita squid jigs. Maybe ask the developer guy if they can add these. And also, when tuna fishing, marlin fishing and even mahi mahi fishing, gafs are a common tool used to get the fish in the boat - it is just a long stick made out of wood or metal and has a big hook at the end. It is used to hook the fish when it comes close to the boat so you can just heave it in.

I have a couple questions if there is another interview like this. after the "Crafting bait" section is made, will there be some sort of fish or crab/lobster traps where you can use bait to possibly catch more fish and/or crustations like shrimp, crawfish or the new lobsters? Another question for the crafting would be if you can take fish like the salmons or brown trout, and instead of keeping them, harvest them for a random or set amount of their eggs/spawn sacks? There's so many more questions/possibilities with a system like that. I know they might not even have it close to being done, but I always wondered why this wasn't in the game. Theres so much more you can do (I understand that means ALOT more work, but im willing to wait) but it would add so much more and get rid of some of the repetitiveness...

im new to the gaqme, but still, whe i heard "we are gonna have to optimize for consoles" i got excited!!! i cant even play in this map, cause im lvl 30 and dont wanna spend 40 euros for a boat, but optimization is needed, and an ocean map still looks very cool even if i will fish from shore!

All sounds great except the level requirement...will take me a year just to get to lvl 80 or above...just like that optimism destroyed. It takes a ridiculous amount of time to level and there are large gaps in lvls that take a lot of grinding.

Just got back from doing some fishing in Okinawa. Catching yellowfin and skipjack on a drift with soft plastics, couple dorado aswell. Definitely a unique place. Weird how dudes catch yellowfin and dorado from the shore over there

Can you please ask Andrii if we will ever see cross-platform support between consoles? At the very least between Xbox and PlayStation? I think alot of us have friends on different platforms and adding crossplay support can only really benefit their game.

I still hope, even if its 20+ updates from now that somewhere down the line, your team considers working on adding it. I really really enjoy the game and its kind of a feels bad moment when my friend and my cousin who are on playstation cant play with us, short of having to explain things over call and sending pictures over discord of fish and marks/locations. Anyways, thank you for all your hard work. I hope you and the FP team are staying safe! Looking forward to the new ocean update coming out. Reminds me of the show Wicked Tuna how yall described it.

Can someone help!!! I am trying to catch all species of fish at st croix I only have the Muskie n pike left . Well I can only get them to bite on cranks. Bottom setups only get catfish, I’m using titanium leaders but they’re not biting. I skipped them the first time grinding st croix due to their bite time. So I waited a irl 30 min span an still no Vite it’s quite frustrating to say the least.

Endless grind this game has the worst grind you will ever see as they want you to spend money to get to higher lvl content. It is the games biggest flaw by far

@@Milkmytoe I just bought Congo DLC and the grind is pretty quick. Well... everyone you have to pay if you want to get it faster. But look on that from the different side... The DLC cost is 40$, the grind takes you for example 500 hours, it's better to go for 2 hours to job, and earn money, then buy DLC, than spend 500 hours for FREE, and grind, grind like a idiot, am I not right?

Bz i would maybe change your eess tactic beacause i fish emerald lake from 8 to 30 and it only took 30 hours of playtime then when i tried out everglades i was getting less xp per fish and i never caught a uni for a whole lvl i followed your guide as well but no unis

Pretty common thing, but no- majority of people lose interest in the walleye and stop playing the game, so Everglades is a good stop to break up the monotony, plus if you get into the trophy and unique largemouth bass, it’s still a pretty good step
