First Major Mod - Lowered The Car On KW HAS kit

My first major mod with the G87 M2. With the help Sean we lowered the car. The car is lowered on KW height adjustable springs. Supreme Power shipped the kit over and it was a smooth process. Ordered the kit one day, 4 days later the kit was installed.
I am not fully happy with how low its sitting right now. I am going to let it settle over the course of a few weeks and re-evaluate.
What do you all think? Is it low enough? Could it go even lower?

KW produced the MP HAS kit for BMW. The MP HAS is just a repainted KW HAS it’s the same kit. Of course BMW raises the price for an “OEM”version and painted the springs red and plates blue.

I tried getting the m performance set up, but it was not available for the US market, so i was told when I ordered my car. That looks real good .

Looks good! I have kw has on my F80M3. Surprised the dealership would put on aftermarket springs since they have bmw m adjustable springs like the kw.

Sean is my buddy and he does it on his spare time. I drop off the car with him and he does it when time allows him 😃

@@thedevthing My buddy has a G82 with HRE 20s all around and dropped on KW as well and it looks insane! It rides like stock and I find when I drove it the steering felt a bit sharper than stock… I believe he’s running 20x10 fr. and 20x11 rr. If I recall the offsets are 10 and 15 but I would have to confirm…

@@thedevthing I’m not sure but aesthetically staggered diameter wheels on bmws just seems off… Just compare the fitment on your GT3 and the M2 and you’ll see what I’m referring to… the tire profiles on the RS look balanced front to rear… not so with the BMW G platforms… Also, the fact that the rear calipers are tiny accentuâtes it even more… Hope this helped

Ah yeah I know what you mean. I was trying to get beefier rear tires so the front and back sidewalls are very close

I'm all for height adjustments but I'd rather it done via coilovers and not a HAS kit. If I'm going to spend the money I just go Ohlins R/T or KW V3s. I've been in a G82 on a HAS and one on V4s and HAS was worse than a stock feeling G82 but if its stance you care for more then I get it. I also understand why HAS kits are not ideal for handling though.

I hear you. I rather get coilovers for a longer term car. The M2 is a short term car and will get replaced next season. Since M-performance offers a similar HAS kit, I figured I go this route. In case I decide to keep the car longer, coilovers are going on for sure 😃🙌

@@thedevthing M2 looks dope!! I have an F80 6MT lowered on KW V3+'s and love the stance. Of course I have to watch speed bumps and entrance/exit ways of course. Why do you only plan to keep the M2 for this season may I ask? I'm in London, ON and always in TO. Hoping to move back out that way soon. Would love to possible attend one of your cars and coffee meets to see the vehicle in person, meet you as well as hopefully see all the other vehicles you've had on your channel 😊😊

That’s awesome. 😃🙏 If a GT4RS of a 911 GTS becomes reality, I would have to offload the M2. But given the track record of waiting for the right spec, it might not happen this year. We are in Ottawa, if you are in the area do let us know 😃🙌

Sean who installed it for me was too fast. I could not get there in time to measure and film the install process 😃😂😂

Do you have a before and after or a measured difference? This probably the only thing I miss -- working on a car.

Oh man. There was plans to do all that, but Sean did the job before I could even blink. Dropped off one hour and the next hour the car is done 😂😂 Currently the car is sitting on the lowest setting front and rears to match

how does it feel while driving ? did you install KW V3 ? for track ?

These are just the HAS kit. It likely won’t see many track days as I will use my GT3RS for that. These are very similar to what M-performance offers to lower the car 😃
