absolute stunning video! and the toughness of those movements is just mind-boggling. I really wish to see more movement test videos like this in the future

I have the Fortis B42 Aeromaster PC7 and it is a wonderful watch, keeps time accurate to + 2 seconds a day for me. It is built like a tank, built to last. Also Fortis service support has been wonderful as I had some issues with the lugs while changing straps. It was a design issue with a tiny notch that makes it very tough to insert the lug pin, but seems addressed now.

Nice video! The WERK 17 movement seems to be a Valjoux 7750 modified with a column wheel. Since you've had watches with this movement on the International Space Station in the past (and other brands' watches with the 7750 from Sinn and others have been to space as well), what did you expect not to work when taking the WERK 17 to a much lower altitude in the stratosphere? It would be interesting to learn what changes you made to the 7750 to make it more space-ready than the off-the-shelf version.
@FORTISWATCHES19122 жыл бұрын
Hi Just to make sure: this is not a 7750 at all but a manfacture calibre created in collaboration with Manufacture La Joux Perret - featuring 60 hrs of power reserve and a specially designed bridge for even more robust functionality. On top it has a column wheel Chronograph. And yes that one needed to undergo some reality checks. Best regards
@Amplitudeproblem2 жыл бұрын
@@FORTISWATCHES1912 Interesting; the layout of the movement components looks essentially identical to a 7750, down to the locations of screw holes and such. La Joux Perret has made several column wheel versions of the 7750 in the past for other companies. I'm curious what the diameter and thickness of the WERK 17 are.

First Fortis chronograph in space : 1 July 1994 on Soyuz TM-19 (even worn on EVA spacewalk on September 9, 1994 by the Mir-16 cosmonauts) Most recent Fortis chronograph in space ? May 2015 on Soyuz TMA-16M ... anyone ? Stratosphere isn't even "near space" ... Perhaps watchmaking redefined... but space officially begins at 100 Km ! 🧐

oke, so you are just sending an off the shelf movement to space, to see if it still works.. so no enhancements on the of the shelf movement to make it better suited for space? All of these testing conditions can easily be done in a lab, without the need to cut down a tree and hire the Swedish balloon NASA and two helicopters. If you watch closely, you can see that a few of the watches lost time at altitude. Looks like marketing baloney to me.
