Glad you got to experience Offroading in the Eastern USA 🇺🇸! It always gripes me when these manufacturers take a super wide truck to Moab and tell me it's Offroad capable everywhere 😂 Your going to have a destroyed truck here in the East . High Desert suspension is mostly useless as well. All that Data driven tech is useless in a lot of the mountains areas here , or very spotty.

People who keep vehicles long past being paid off know to buy Toyotas. I’d like to see a mfg come out saying they are gunning for Toyota. But that truck is awesome

The height of the hoods on new trucks is stupid. I had a ‘93 GMC SLT Club Cab dually with the 454 engine and the front of the hood was just above belly button height. Other than the modern truck appearing Macho I see no reason for the hood height being so tall. There was no cooling problems on my dually so I don’t see the problem engineers claim the newer trucks need the extra cooling capacity of a tall radiator.

In order to increase towing one of the things that must be done is increase cooling. Your old truck isn’t rated to tow anywhere near what the modern equivalent is to your truck. I do agree they are very high now days. My new 2500 has a very high hood.

Gunning for a slice of the Tacoma pie? The new twins look great. Very nice package overall. Will it age well???? A Tacoma is always a safe bet.

The taco is doing the same thing with the 4cyl Turbo. Safe bet? It trailed behind the previous generation colorado/Canyon, let alone the 23 refresh models. Save bet? I guess, if you are fine settling for less. Hopefully the Tacoma surprises instead of just going the motions. Their base will settle for that.

@Anh Nguyen you do realize why right? Because toyota was all by itself for about 7 years and built their base. Nothing wrong with that. Then competitors came along. Look at the past 4 years.... JD Powers and others have them listed as 5-6th best overall. Most sold doesn't mean best. Sheeple lined up for the jab too, and that worked out well. Toyota knows that people really don't care about actual data and facts. That's why they have not improved what they had when they were all by themselves. They know their base will settle for less just for the name. That's why they do not do anything better. And now they admittedly say they are going to limit north American quantity... to drive up prices. They don't care. They want to make money off providing less. People see a name, that's it. Toyota has offered less for years and people still bought it. And before you cry more, I own a Toyota Camry. Toyota isn't what they were 10 years ago. Biden is the most popular president. Ever. But what do I know. Genius.

It’s all about maintenance. I’ve worked on plenty of Toyotas just I have GMs. I’ll add this the one Toyota my wife had sucked for maintenance. Even doing oil changes Toyota made it harder than it should be.

I know I’m in the minority here. To me the Canyon is a full size truck. Look up dimensions and capability of what a “full size” truck was 30 yrs ago. It is a Sierra from the 1990s but an inch narrower “Full size” trucks now are “oversized trucks” because manufacturers are fighting the spec sheet wars

true, the depth of the beds these days are insane. Like 22 inches from top of bed to bed floor. Unheard of just 20 years ago.

I totally agree. I look at these like they’re full size trucks. Includjng the gas mileage. Sad that you can get a V8 full-size truck that gets better mileage than these.

Will you question the 4 cyl in the Tacoma? Or its bloated price? Keep in mind the 4cyl has been on the bigger Silverado for 5 years now.

@el Ché That's why I said "hopefully". Who knows how the new Taco will be. They have been bulletproof in the past. As for a 4 cylinder in a full size pick up, I'll pass on that one.

Wondering the same, everyone keeps comparing the new Twins to the Tacoma (that isn't out yet), but how does it perform offroad against the very dated Gladiator? If the Gladiator gets a refresh soon (like the Wrangler did) and by some hope gets the Hurricane Turbo I-6, if may be the better option.

The 2.7 is also been in the Silverado… good engine so far we have one for work 53000 no issues
